Thanks to my parents love for traveling and Central Government giving them LTC (Leave Travel Concession\/ Allowance), things were good from the word go. I kept on adding to where they stopped. Having stayed at over hundred cities within India for at least for more than two nights I have impressions to share.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a rundown of some of the cities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Delhi &#8211; Good, bad or ugly, this is the heart of India.<\/li>\n<li>Mumbai &#8211; Whatever they may do, it remains Bombay Dreams.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/maps\/westbengal\/kolkata-city-map.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Kolkata<\/a> &#8211; The city has a heart beat, though it beats erratically at times.<\/li>\n<li>Chennai &#8211; A larger than life city, from hoardings to street quarells everything in this city is out of proportion.<\/li>\n<li>Bangalore &#8211; How brain can ruin beauty.<\/li>\n<li>Hyderabad &#8211; Pale shadow of its past, where every thing is still not lost.<\/li>\n<li>Ahmedabad &#8211; It was unfair to move the capital to Gandhi Nagar.<\/li>\n<li>Pune &#8211; This city screams, why are you waking me up and pushing me to become a mess.<\/li>\n<li>Jaipur &#8211; No longer pink, no longer perfect, a city which just keeps growing.<\/li>\n<li>Lucknow &#8211; Struggling to go beyond its culture.<\/li>\n<li>Kanpur &#8211; Politics killed this industrial city.<\/li>\n<li>Mussorie &#8211; Delhi extension area.<\/li>\n<li>Nainital &#8211; We have the lake, Mussorie doesn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>Shimla &#8211; Look Britishers, look what we did to your summer capital.<\/li>\n<li>Bhopal &#8211; We were good without Surma Bhopali.<\/li>\n<li>Darjelling &#8211; Please leave us alone with our awesome views.<\/li>\n<li>Cuttack &#8211; Remember we have a Cricket Stadium.<\/li>\n<li>Patna &#8211; Someday we will fight back and be in the reckoning.<\/li>\n<li>Agra &#8211; We put India on the world map.<\/li>\n<li>Trivandrum &#8211; The city with most educated and articulate auto drivers in the country.<\/li>\n<li>Panaji &#8211; Call me Goa.<\/li>\n<li>Chandigarh &#8211; Divided I stand.<\/li>\n<li>Udaipur &#8211; Indian connection with Bond, I am Bond, I am James Bond. (James Bond movie Octopussy was shot in Udaipur and got it in world focus).<\/li>\n<li>Jodhpur &#8211; If only Maharaja Hanwant Singh Ji had not died on January 26, 1962.<\/li>\n<li>Amritsar &#8211; Yes, the city of The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/amritsar\/golden-temple.html\" target=\"_blank\">Golden Temple<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Ludhiana &#8211; Of bicycles and BMWs.<\/li>\n<li>Patiala &#8211; Struggling for an identity beyond Patiala peg and Maharaja of Patiala&#8217;s excesses.<\/li>\n<li>Jammu &#8211; Poor cousin to Sri Nagar<\/li>\n<li>Sri Nagar &#8211; Why do we have to go through all this.<\/li>\n<li>Gurgaon &#8211; Talk about brands we host, not about our roads.<\/li>\n<li>Noida &#8211; Sanjay Gandhi was a visionary.<\/li>\n<li>Ooty &#8211; My full name is Ootacumnd and I am a hill-station.<\/li>\n<li>Kodaikanal &#8211; Call me Kodai and bicycle around my lake.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was born in Patiala, Punjab but the city of Delhi is my hometown.
