In India, we use red kidney beans which are called <em>rajma<\/em> in the Hindi language.\u00a0<em>Rajma<\/em> are rich in proteins\u00a0and carbohydrates and is a very popular vegetarian curry across the states of Jammu &amp; Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal region, etc. <em>Rajma<\/em> are equally liked by people with rice or with <em>naan\/ roti<\/em>. <em>Rajma masala<\/em>\u00a0is cooked by frying the onion-based <em>masala<\/em> and adding spices into it which\u00a0bring out a very nice flavor in the dish which everyone at home can relish. This dish can be a part of your regular meal or even party menu. So, go ahead and try this recipe of yummy <em>rajma masala<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ingredients needed for Rajma Masala<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Rajma &#8211; 1 cup (soaked overnight)<\/p>\n<p>Oil &#8211; 4 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Onion &#8211; 3 cups (chopped)<\/p>\n<p>Ginger Garlic paste &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Tomato &#8211; 1 cup (chopped)<\/p>\n<p>Coriander powder &#8211; 2 tbsp<\/p>\n<p>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Red chili powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Roasted cumin powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p><em>Garam masala<\/em> powder &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Fresh coriander for garnishing<\/p>\n<h2>How to make Rajma Masala<\/h2>\n<p>Boil <em>rajma<\/em> with salt till they are soft<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a heavy-bottom pan.<\/p>\n<p>Add onions and fry till golden brown.<\/p>\n<p>Add the ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell is gone.<\/p>\n<p>Add tomato and fry for a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, salt and <em>garam masala<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Fry till oil is separated from the sides of the pan.<\/p>\n<p>Add a little water during frying, if required.<\/p>\n<p>Add boiled <em>rajma<\/em> and 2 cups of water.<\/p>\n<p>Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with fresh coriander.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot with rice or naan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kidney beans are famous the world over and specifically in the South American continent.
