About Movie Shorgul<\/h2>\n

Shorgul has been set in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and is a political drama. It has Jimmy Shergill and Ashutosh Rana in the lead roles. The flick is based on the cute friendship between a Hindu boy Raghu(played by Anirudh Dave) and a Muslim girl Zainab(played by Suha Gezen) which results into creation of a political minefield, causing a lot of chaos in the entire state of Uttar Pradesh. As a Bollywood political thriller, Shorgul is loosely based on the Muzzafarnagar riots that took place in 2013. Director duo, Pranav Kumar Singh and Jitendra Tiwari has put in best efforts in portraying the political crisis in the best possible manner.<\/p>\n

Plot<\/h3>\n

Shorgul is a high-pitched political drama showcasing real life incidents that rocked India in the past few years. Set on the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, Shorgul has highlighted sensitive issues that went on to become major political riots in our country. The movie will offer you a perfect blend of political mind games and masterstrokes by top-notch dignitaries.<\/p>\n

The innocent friendship between a Hindu boy Raghu (played by Anirudh Dave) and a Muslim girl Zainab (played by Suha Gezen) causes a lot of unrest in the state and the matter results into an interesting and wild series of events to become a national issue.<\/p>\n

Performances<\/h3>\n

Coming to the performances in Shorgul, Jimmy Shergill (playing the role of Ranjit Om) has delivered a power-packed performance. He has actually put life into his character but sadly his acting skills have proved to be a complete waste for the theme of Shorgul.<\/p>\n

Next, in-line is Ashutosh Rana, who\u2019s undoubtedly a brilliant actor and has showcased his commendable acting skills in this flick as well. Showcasing the character of Chaudhary, Ashutosh has been excellent in dialogue delivery and his \u201cmoustache\u201d is definitely something to check out.<\/p>\n

TV actors Hiten Tejwani, Eijaz Khan and Aniruddh Dave have churned out average performances.<\/p>\n

The leading lady in Shorgul and a newcomer, Suha Gezen is purely over-acting in most of her scenes in Shorgul. While there are sequences where she seems to be a chirpy girl, at other places, she can be seen quite irritating, just running around streets, crying her heart out.<\/p>\n

Shorgul Music<\/h3>\n

Shorgul\u2019s music has been composed by yesteryear\u2019s music director Lalit Pandit. The music album opens with \u201cTere Bina\u201d sung by current singing heartthrob Arijit Singh. The track takes you back to the magic of the Jatin-Lalit brand of music. Then there is \u201cMast Hawa\u201d which is a party number loaded with lazy beats and a unique dance feel to it. Next is \u201cBaroodi Hawa\u201d which goes well with the genre of Shorgul. Last one is \u201cShaam O Seher\u201d which has the vocals of Vishal Mihra and has been impressively synchronized with the theme of the movie.<\/p>\n

Hat\u2019s off to the director who\u2019s made the best possible effort to extract the finest performances out of talented actors like Ashutosh RANA, Jimmy Shergill, Narendra Jha and Sanjay Suri.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Bad?<\/h3>\n

Makers of Shorgul seem to have clanged onto the 90s. The way in which the issue of Hindu-Muslim rivalry has been showcased in the movie could have been improved. Awful junior artists and typical dialogues serve as complete turn offs.<\/p>\n

Verdict<\/h3>\n

In-sync with its name, Shorgul has a lot of noise with all possible clinches fetched from a political drama that\u2019s accompanied by dramatic dialogues. You can easily give this film a miss and instead visit a water park to chill out.<\/p>\n
