A blend of traditional Hindu and Rajputana architecture, the fort has been aesthetically designed out of marble and red sandstone.<\/p>\n<p>As the sun sets, the refection of the fort in the Maotha Lake that flows in front of the fort looks stunning. The rustic edifice looks rugged and mysterious from outside and is astonishingly gorgeous and serene if its interiors are concerned. Elaborate wall paintings, intricate d\u00e9cor, traditional mirror-work art of Gujarat, its gateways, halls, latticed galleries and pavilions \u2013 all validate one fact, i.e., Amer Fort is deeply rooted into ages of history and have experienced an era of invasions, of royalty and struggle.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key areas to explore:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diwan-e-Aam &#8211; Public Audience Hall<\/li>\n<li>Diwan-e-Khaas \u2013 Private Audience Hall<\/li>\n<li>Sukh Niwas \u2013 Hall of Pleasure<\/li>\n<li>Ganesh Pol \u2013 A beautifully sculptured royal gateway embellished with mosaics.<\/li>\n<li>Sheesh Mahal \u2013 Mirror palace (do not miss the &#8216;magic flower&#8217; fresco)<\/li>\n<li>Kali Temple<\/li>\n<li>Shila Mata temple \u2013 The main gate of the temple is exceptional! Covered with silver sheet, the gateway is beautifully embossed.<\/li>\n<li>Jas Mandir \u2013 Located in the <em>zenana<\/em> (courtyard for royal women), this hall has beautiful glass inlays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hire a guide for a deeper insight into the fort&#8217;s history. You will find a few entertainers around the fort, singers and snake charmers.<\/p>\n<p>Be ready for a royal, musical welcome to the fort with Nagadas (huge drums) being played for the visitors. Reaching early is advisable.
