About Movie Happy Bhag Jayegi<\/h2>\n

Featuring Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill, Ali Fazal and Momal Shiekh in lead roles, the movie \u2013 a musical family drama directed by Mudassar Aziz \u2013 is producer Anand L. Rai\u2019s third offering following Raanjhanaa and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.<\/p>\n

This run-com revolves around a runaway bride hailing from Amritsar, who unknowingly crosses the border and reaches Pakistan. This leads to a series of hilarious events that form the cross-border core of the film.<\/p>\n

Plot<\/h3>\n

Happy Bhag Jayegi kickstars in Amritsar, where an Indo-Pak conference is being held. The conference has Javed Ahmed (played by Javed Shiekh), the ex-governor of Pakistan in attendance. He wants his son, Bilal Ahmad (played by Abhay Deol) to make a career in Politics.<\/p>\n

As the conference ends, Bilal reaches his home and is surprised to see a mysterious fruit \u2018moving basket\u2019, which is been used by Happy (played by Diana Penty) as a hideout.<\/p>\n

Happy has run away from her wedding with a businessman, Daman Singh Bagga (played by Jimmy Shergill), because she is in love with a guy named Guddu (played by Ali Fazal). Amidst all the events that take place upon the arrival of Happy in Pakistan, Bilal lands up falling in love with her.<\/p>\n

What happens next is a series of hidings and chases that contribute to the confusion between the neighbouring countries Pakistan and India. Would Happy be able to survive in Pakistan and whom will she get married to is what forms the crux of Happy Bhag Jayegi.<\/p>\n

Performances<\/h3>\n

As far as the performances are concerned, Happy Bhag Jayegi sees Diana Penty (Happy Kaur) of the Cocktail fame leading the pack from the front. The film begins well with her and she’s seen shining with potential.<\/p>\n

She has shown that she is capable of maintaining a distinctive identity throughout the flick and has delivered her dialogues quite believably.<\/p>\n

Abhay Deol (Bilal Ahmed), too, has done well in his role of a Pakistani youth politician. The way in which he has enacted his role is rather sincere; and has, surprisingly, succeeded in delivering many a laugh. Then there is Momal Sheikh (playing the role of Zoya), who is making her debut in Bollywood.<\/p>\n

She, too, has showcased utmost confidence while playing her character on-screen and helped the fellow cast in making Happy Bhag jayegi partly watchable.<\/p>\n

Ali Fazal (Guddu) has given his two-penny bit by keeping the audience entertained, and helping the film’s premise of light-hearted cross-border camaraderie see the light of day without being much of a drag. Happy Bhag Jayegi is, from all aspects, an actor’s film. All the actors in the film have done well.<\/p>\n

Happy Bhag Jayegi Music<\/h3>\n

The music album of Happy Bhag Jayegi has Sufi and Punjabi influences. It starts with \u201cHappy Oye\u201d which describes the protagonist and has been superbly sung by Harshdeep Kaur and Shahid Mallya. This is an out-and-out Punjabi track which has become an instant hit among party lovers.<\/p>\n

Then there is \u201cGabru Ready to Mingle Hai\u201d, which has excellent vocals by Mika Singh. The English vocals are by rapper Dee MC. Neeti Mohan has done complete justice to her part in this party song.<\/p>\n

Next is \u201cAashiq Tera\u201d, which has the typical qawwali beats accompanied by table. The song has been brilliantly supplemented as a cheer towards its end. It has melodious lyrics and is a complete delight to the ears.<\/p>\n

\u201cZara Si Dosti\u201d is yet another laudable track sung by Arijit Singh. The song has a set pattern of guitars and drums and will indeed become the most memorable track of the movie. Last song in the album is \u201cYaaram\u201d sung by Javed Ali. With painful lyrics, the song will be loved by those who have recently faced heartbreak.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Good?<\/h3>\n

The comic timing of all the film’s leading actors is the real USP of Happy Bhag Jayegi. Clever writing and wonderful dialogues have worked in favour of the movie, and its actors.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Bad?<\/h3>\n

The movie\u2019s second half seems a bit stretched. Plus, the existence of too many sub-plots has made the flick a tad bit confusing.<\/p>\n

Verdict<\/h3>\n

As a family watch, Happy Bhag Jayegi has some brilliant comic elements which will undoubtedly keep you entertained.<\/p>\n
