As India’s youngest superhero, flying jatt (played by Tiger Shroff) is humorous and afraid of heights. Though he loves his mother, he fears her too. Handling real life problems like buying vegetables and cleaning the ceiling fans become easy when he receives powers from a Holy tree. You definitely can’t miss checking out this Flying Jatt doing different things to protect the world in his own way.

Plot

A Flying Jatt kickstarts with Mr. Malhotra (played by Kay Kay Menon), a big time industrialist who doesn’t mind dumping his industrial waste into the local lake. As a businessman, he eyes purchasing a land which has a holy tree and a society that is owned by Aman/flying jatt(played by Tiger Shroff) and Rohit’s(played by Gaurav Pandey) mother(played by Amrita Singh).

It is after Amrita Singh raises her voice against Mr. Malhotra’s decision that the latter appoints Raka (played by Nathan Jones) to kill her and the entire family. While Aman turns a superhero overnight, courtesy the Holy tree; Raka turns a Toxic superhero after occupying an area with toxic waste for over 10 days. With a new name as Flying Jatt (a messiah) Aman takes on his mission of saving the people from the toxic effects of the industrial waste. Will he defeat Raka? Or will his superhero avatar get into vein? Well, you’ll have to watch the flick to know the answers.

Performances

With his third film, Tiger Shroff alias Flying Jatt/Aman is set to impress everyone with his absolutely brilliant performance. Although he’s been quite convincing in the role of a superhero, a poor dialogue delivery has hampered his on-screen charm. His air-kicks have been superb and action movie lovers will surely enjoy his acts and moves.

Playing the love interest of Aman/flying jatt is Kirti(played by Jacqueline Fernandez). Shown as an overly chirpy girl, Jacqueline has her main highlight in the ‘Beat Pe Booty’ song. Her performance is decent but not outstanding.

Amrita Singh, the yester-year actress has once again turned heads with her commendable portrayal of a Punjabi mom after the blockbuster 2 States. She has been phenomenal in her scenes and put in every bit of effort to make her character believable.

Gaurav Pandey(Tiger’s brother, Rohit), who was last seen as Varun Dhawan’s friend in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania has done complete justice to his role in the movie. His comedic timing will definitely tickle your funny bone.

Kay Kay Menon as the villain is wearing the same looks as he did in Remo’s ABCD. His character seems to be caricaturish.

Finally, there is Nathan Jones who will scare you off with his huge structure in the character of Raka. Playing the baddie in ‘A Flying Jatt’ Nathan has no dialogues and has been roped in just to scare the hell out of audiences.

A Flying Jatt Music

The music album of ‘A Flying Jatt’ is enthralling and full of energy. The opening track titled “A Flying Jatt” is a Punjabi number beautifully sung by Mansheel Gujral, Raftaar and Tanishkaa. Loaded with Punjabi lyrics, this is a track that will remain in the minds of music lovers for a very long time.

Next is “Toota Jo Kabhi Taara” which is a romantic number crooned by super-talented Pakistani singer Atif Aslam and the newbie Sumedha Karmahe. This is a soft song and will indeed set in a lovey-dovey mood.

Then there is “Beat Pe Booty” which is a chilled out number and has catchy beats. The song has a visible significance to the hit track titled “Babaji Ki Booti” from Go Goa Gone. The song will definitely create a niche in parties and events.

Next is “Bhangda Pa” which is an energetic track and has been brilliantly song by Vishal Dadlani. This entertaining high-voltage track is surely going to woo loud music listeners.

“Khair Mangda” is a sole track sung by Atif Aslam. It has a good amount of resemblance to the ‘Chunar’ track from Remo’s ABCD2. This is undoubtedly one of the best songs in the album.

Finally, we have the last track in the album, titled as “Raj Karega Khalsa”. This is a Punjabi score with a semi-rock feel to it. Fantastically sung by Daler Mehndi and Navraj Hans, the song is loud and talks about God.

Details of songs in the movie

1. “A Flying Jatt”

Singer(s): Mansheel Gujral, Raftaar & Tanishkaa

Duration: 04:48

2. “Toota Jo Kabhi Tara”

Singer(s): Atif Aslam & Sumedha Karmahe

Duration: 05:23

3. “Beat Pe Booty”

Singer(s): Sachin, Jigar & Vayu

Duration: 03:17

4. “Bhangda Pa”

Singer(s): Vishal Dadlani, Divya Kumar & Asees Kaur

Duration: 03:58

5. “Khair Mangda”

Singer(s): Atif Aslam

Duration: 04:17

6. “Raj Karega Khalsa”

Singer(s): Daler Mehndi & Navraj Hans

Duration: 05:27

What’s Good?

Spellbinding stunts are the best upside of ‘A Flying Jatt’. Additionally, watching Tiger Shroff stepping out of his comfort zone is something that the audiences wouldn’t want to miss for sure.

What’s Bad?

A Flying Jatt has lost its plot during the second half. Also, the climax has come out to be a royal mess. Towards the end, the movie evolves into a documentary on global warming. This might bore the fun-loving audience.

Verdict

While ‘A Flying Jatt’ appears to be too silly for adults, the younger lot may find it a fun-flick. Hence, if you’re a parent, take along your kid for this superhero movie with a pinch of Bollywood Masala.

A Flying Jatt Rating ***

Other Movie Reviews

<a style="font-weight: bold;
