About Movie 2016 The End<\/h2>\n

2016 The End is a fresh idea for Bollywood that looks at how we would react if we knew the world was coming to an end in seven days! All our lives we spend thinking, planning, prioritizing issues that seem totally meaningless if we were told that we had only seven days to live and that doomsday was finally here. Great topic for thought and introspection, as we would all react differently.<\/p>\n

But Writer and Director Jaideep Chopra takes us into the lives of four wacko friends, each of whom have their own take in life. Panic sets in when they read about doomsday coming in seven days and they set off fulfilling their \u2018last unfulfilled wishes\u2019. Here on, it’s one laugh riot to the other.<\/p>\n

The journey to live their \u2018dreams\u2019 takes them to Goa and while the world doesn\u2019t come to an end, they end up in roller-coaster situations — from being caught up in a robbery to a wild goose drive in a stolen Audi.<\/p>\n

Performances<\/strong><\/p>\n

This young, fun, peppy and crazy comedy has Priya Banerjee and Harshad Chopda as fresh faces. Priya Banerjee (playing Sheetal), gets her second break in Hindi cinema after Jazbaa, having acted in some Telugu films down south. Harshad Chopda (playing Rahul), who is a familiar face on TV gets his big break in Bollywood. Divyendu Sharma (playing Sunny) continues to be seen after films like Chasme Baddoor and Pyaar ka Panchnama.<\/p>\n

Kiku Sharda (playing Asse) gets out of his cross-dressing avatar and back to his normal self, Rahul Roy (playing D\u2019Costa) is seen after a long time playing the big bad boy.<\/p>\n

Though funny, it still does not rise beyond the usual slapstick comedy that Bollywood has been churning out. But then comedy isn\u2019t an easy genre.<\/p>\n

Sultry voiced Lyla has dished out a number titillating visuals where the trio go out for a fun evening. Song matches the situation.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s good?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The concept. The young and fresh star cast obviously have enjoyed the shoot and that tells on the screen. Funny in patches, but fails to have audiences ribbed through the film. The music is pleasant enough with some decent visuals.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s bad?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Weak direction. The director had a great idea since he wrote the story himself, but falls short of translating the idea into a constant fun trip.<\/p>\n

Verdict<\/strong><\/p>\n

Frankly, one can give the film a miss. But you have nothing at all lined up for the weekend, then it\u2019s a decent \u2018time-pass\u2019.<\/p>\n
