Over 100 years old, this church looks perfect with its red and white exteriors and the Biblical verse in Latin \u201csanctificavi locum istum, ut sit nomen meum ibi\u201d that speak of the faith and dedication with which it was built. It means &#8220;I have consecrated this house, that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The rare stained-glass panels in interiors of the Sacred Heart Basilica narrate stories of Christ and saints of the Catholic church. The altar is impressive and its craftsmanship inexpressible. The Parish Hall, Adoration Chapel and statues of the four evangelists cannot be missed out. The interiors are beautifully illuminated with gorgeous chandeliers and candles.<\/p>\n<p>The church is well maintained and can be visited on your trip to Puducherry.
