It is followed by the likes of Khammam and Vishakhapatnam. These results were declared following a survey by Indian Railways that took into account 407 stations across India. This included 75 busiest stations in India that were ranked in A-1 category and 332 stations that are part of category A. In overall rankings, the stations at Jogbani, Madhubani, and Sagauli are said to be the dirtiest stations in India. Incidentally all of them are located in Bihar. The stations at Ambala and Bhopal are also among the dirtiest in India. As far as the busiest and biggest railway stations in India are concerned, the one at Vishakhapatnam sits right there at the top and is followed by Jammu and Secunderabad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who did the survey?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The survey was done by Quality Council of India (QCI) on behalf of Railways. As far as the A1 stations are concerned, Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh is the cleanest. The next two in this category are Secunderabad in Telangana and Jammu Tawi in Jammu and Kashmir. In the category A Beas in Punjab is the cleanest station followed by Khammam in Telangana and Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. This report named Station Cleanliness Report was brought out by Suresh Prabhu, the Union Railways Minister. According to him the survey was done on the basis of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cleanliness in parking<\/li>\n<li>cleanliness in main entry area<\/li>\n<li>cleanliness in main platform<\/li>\n<li>cleanliness in waiting room<\/li>\n<li>direct observation done by QCI accessors regarding cleanliness in these areas<\/li>\n<li>feedback from passengers<\/li>\n<li>clean toilets<\/li>\n<li>clean tracks<\/li>\n<li>clean dustbins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The third survey <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the third such survey that has been done by Railways. It can also be called a part of the governmental body\u2019s Swachh Rail campaign. Railways carry out this survey in order to monitor its premises. As far as the busiest railway stations in A category are concerned, the stations at Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin have featured on the 24<sup>th<\/sup> and 23<sup>rd<\/sup> positions respectively. Both these stations are in Delhi. In category A-1, New Delhi station features at the 39<sup>th<\/sup> position. While releasing the results of the survey, Prabhu stated clearly that the goal was to make all the stations clean. In fact, he also lauded a number of them for having improved their ranking from previous occasions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Darbhanga<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As far as the 75 busiest stations in India are concerned, Darbhanga in Bihar has been ranked as the dirtiest of them all. If someone wants hygienic conditions in the railway stations of Delhi, then Anand Vihar is a far-better option than New Delhi. In fact, Anand Vihar has ranked at 5<sup>th<\/sup> position among category A stations. It is preceded by Vijayawada and succeeded by Lucknow. The railway station at Varanasi, the constituency of Narendra Modi, has been ranked at 14<sup>th<\/sup> position. In category A-1 Bangalore railway station has been awarded the 10<sup>th<\/sup> spot. In the very same ranking Hyderabad is at 16<sup>th<\/sup> position, Mumbai Central is at the 27<sup>th<\/sup> spot, and Chennai Central has been ranked 49<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The railway station at Beas has been declared to be the cleanest in India.
