Its very healthy as it gives a good amount of protein in the diet. It is widely used in India to make various curry dishes like shahi paneer, matar paneer, etc although it can also be used in various other items like sandwiches and pakoras. Fresh paneer just has its own unique taste and often the kids just love to eat raw paneer as well. Here I used paneer as a filling in a paratha, which makes it perfect for a picnic outing or a road or train journey or as another healthy and less messy school lunch box option. Paneer ka paratha has just the right amount of paneer to make it tasty and filling. You could either use the paneer bought at local dairy shops, the packed ones or best created in your own kitchen. Paneer ka paratha goes well with the white butter on the top with a aachar on the side. Use this simple recipe to create nice and filling paneer ka paratha and see how your kids finish their lunch off in no time.

Ingredients needed for Paneer ka Paratha

Whole wheat flour – 1 cup

Paneer – 1 cup (grated)

Salt to taste

Green chili -1 (finely chopped)

Coriander – 2 tbsp (chopped)

Garam masala – 1/2 tsp

Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp

Ghee for frying

How to make Paneer ka Paratha

Knead the whole wheat flour using water to make a soft dough.

Mix paneer, salt, green chili, coriander, garam masala and chaat masala.

Take a lemon-sized ball of the dough and roll it a little bit.

Keep some filling in the center of the dough and bring the ends together.

Dust and roll the dough to a 6-inch circle.

Heat a tava and cook the paratha with ghee on both the sides till golden brown.

Serve hot with butter and achaar.

Paneer is a cheese made in the Indian sub-continent and is also known as cottage cheese.
