Bollywood mania may well be our national religion. It is not a surprise then, that Hindi film dialogues have become part of our lives. So here\u2019s our collection of iconic, evergreen popular dialogues from Bollywood movies that have been part of our lives, some of them living on for decades now \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Devdas (1955)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cKaun kambakht bardaasht karne ko peeta hai? Main toh peeta hoon ke bas saans le saku\u201d \u2013 Dilip Kumar<\/p>\n<p>Thus spake every alcoholic. But our own Dilip Kumar said it first and it became one of the most famous Bollywood dialogues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Mother India (1957)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Tu mujhe nahin maar sakti, tu meri maa hai<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Sunil Dutt<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Mein pehle ek aurat hoon<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Nargis.<\/p>\n<p>If only every woman in our country thought like Mother India!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mughal-e-Azam (1960)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Anarkali, salim ki mohabbat tumhe marne nahin degi aur hum tumhe jeene nahin denge<\/em>\u201d- Prithviraj Kapoor<\/p>\n<p>Parents and their rules \u2013 a historical perspective!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anand (1970)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Arey o baabumoshai! Hum sab rangmanch ki kathputliyan hain jinki dor uparwale ki ungliyon se bandhi hui hai. kab kaun uthega koi nahin bata sakta<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Rajesh Khanna.<\/p>\n<p>We bet there wasn\u2019t a dry eye in the auditorium when this scene was playing. Also, did you know that this dialogue is inspired from meta-theatre?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amar Prem (1971)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Pushpa, I hate tears<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Rajesh Khanna<\/p>\n<p>Well, so do we, but this movie did make us cry. Unforgettable of all the famous Bollywood dialogues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Pakeezah (1972)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Aapke paon dekhe, bahut haseen hai. inhe zameen par mat utariyega, maile ho jayenge<\/em>\u201d- Raj Kumar.<\/p>\n<p>Asking a courtesan and a dancer to take care of her feet \u2013 the irony and romance had women swooning!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yaddon ki Baraat (1973)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Kutte, kameene, main tera khoon pee jaoonga<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Dharmendra<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s something we still expect our heroes to say. A one of a kind popular dialogue from Bollywood movies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bobby (1973)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Koi pyaar kare toh tumse kare, tum jaise ho waise kare. Koi tumko badal kar pyaar kare toh woh pyaar nahin, sauda hai<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Rishi Kapoor<\/p>\n<p>The <em>sollah baras ki<\/em> romance that drove the country crazy. An incredibly nice one from the famous Bollywood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deewar (1975)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMain aaj bhi phenke hue paise nahin uthata\u201d<\/em> &#8211; Amitabh Bachchan<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Aaj mere paas gaadi hai, bungla hai, paisa hai&#8230; tumhare paas kya hai?<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Amitabh Bachchan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Mere paas, mere paas maa hai<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Shashi Kapoor.<\/p>\n<p>Maa, the one prized possession of every Indian.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sholay (1975)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Are-o-sambha! Kitne aadmi thhe?<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Amjad Khan<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Tumhara naam kya hai basanti<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Amitabh Bachchan<\/p>\n<p>This iconic film has a number of memorable dialogues. These are the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me. Our personal favourite of all the famous Bollywood dialogues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kalicharan (1976)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Saara sheher mujhe lion ke naamse jaanta hai<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Ajit<\/p>\n<p>So what if he pronounced it \u2018loin\u2019? Ajit was Mona darling\u2019s favourite. And ours too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don (1978)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Don ka intezaar toh baarah mulko ki police kar rahi hai, but Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Amitabh Bachchan<\/p>\n<p>AB \u2013 the original Don. The remakes didn\u2019t quite match up, did they?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. India (1987)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Mogambo khush hua<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Amrish Puri<\/p>\n<p>The villain who set the benchmark\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shahenshah (1988)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Rishte mein to hum tumhare baap lagte hain, naam hai Shahenshah<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Amitabh Bachchan<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s still the <em>baap<\/em> of all tinsel town heroes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Dosti ka ek usool hai, Madam &#8211; no sorry, no thank you<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Salman Khan<\/p>\n<p>If <em>Sallu Bhai<\/em> insists\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Baazigar (1993)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Kabhi kabhi kuch jeetne ke liye kuch harna bhi padta hai, aur haar kar jeetnay wale ko baazigar kehte hain<\/em>\u201d Shah Rukh Khan<\/p>\n<p>Enter SRK \u2013 Kajol \u2013 the onscreen couple with a sizzling chemistry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Damini (1993)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Taareekh pe taareekh milti rahi hai lekin insaaf nahin milta. Milte hai to sirf taareekh<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Sunny Deol<\/p>\n<p>The angry hero in a fiery movie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Bade bade shehron mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Shah Rukh Khan<\/p>\n<p>One of the corniest pick-up lines ever spoken on the silver screen. And yet when SRK says it, a million hearts flutter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rangeela (1995)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Uska to na bad luck hi kharab hai<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Aamir Khan<\/p>\n<p>Aamir as the lovable <em>tapori<\/em>, Munna \u2013 everyone\u2019s favourite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Munnabhai MBBS (2003)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Tension lene ka nahin, sirf dene ka<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Sanjay Dutt<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d love to survive on <em>Gandhigiri<\/em> and <em>Jadu ki jhappi<\/em> too, Munna Bhai! Problem is we have to work too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Om Shanti Om (2007)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ek chutki sindoor ki keemat tum kya jaano Ramesh babu<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Deepika Padukone<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHamari filmon ki tarah, Humari zindagi mein bhi, End tak sab kuch thik hi ho jata hai..Happies endings..Aur agar thik na ho, Toh wohh the end nahi..Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost&#8230;Picture abhi baaki hai!\u201d<\/em> &#8211; Shah Rukh Khan<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Kehte hain, agar kissi cheez ko dil se chaho, toh puri ki puri qayanaat tumhe usse milaane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Shah Rukh Khan<\/p>\n<p>Top Bollywood stars and a reincarnation story and a movie within a movie &#8211; Filmy, very filmy!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dirty Picture (2011)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFilmein sirf teen cheezon ki wajah se chalti hain- entertainment, entertainment, entertainment. Aur main entertainment hoon!\u201d<\/em> &#8211; Vidya Balan<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chennai Express (2013)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Don\u2019t underestimate the power of the common man<\/em>\u201d Shah Rukh Khan<\/p>\n<p>Not quite there yet but slowly getting closer to where the <em>Thalaiva<\/em> is perched, right SRK?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Masaan (2015)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Aap akele rehte hain?<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Nei hum pitaji ke saath rehte hain. Pitaji akele rehte hain&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A very short role with just few dialogues. But this line said by Pankaj Tripathi in Masaan will always stand out in the history of Indian cinema.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Raees (2017)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Koi dhandha chota nahi hota. Aur dhandhe se bada koi dharm nahi hota<\/em>\u201d \u2013 Shah Rukh Khan<\/p>\n<p>Yes, we\u2019re aware, Mr. Khan. And yet the only <em>dhandha<\/em> we want to indulge in is watching you onscreen and cheering for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Race 3 (2018)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cOur business is our business, none of your business\u201d &#8211; Daisy Shah<\/p>\n<p>Well! if Race series excites you, then this movie is a must watch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Padman (2018)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAmerica Ke paas Superman hai, Batman hai, Spiderman hai&#8230;lekin India ke pass Padman hai\u201d<\/em> &#8211; Akshay Kumar<\/p>\n<p>Right Akshay Kumar, you took the lead to break the stigma attached to menstruation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uri \u2013 The Surgical Strike (2019)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHow&#8217;s the Josh?\u201d<\/em> &#8211; Vicky Kaushal<br \/>\nNothing less than the dramatised account of revenge of the 2016 Uri attack.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gully Boy (2019)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cApna time aayega, tu nanga hi to aaya hai, Kya ghanta lekar jaayega<\/em>\u201d &#8211; Ranveer Singh<\/p>\n<p>It is not only about us, but other hard core fans of Ranveer Singh too. This dialogue is the most appreciated one in the movie, and became a major attraction on social media sites through memes, messages and so on. A rocking movie for a badass audience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Malang (2020)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Badle mein hamesha do kabarein khodni padti hai jis mein se ek khudki hoti hai&#8221;- Kunal Khemu<\/p>\n<p>Whenever you plan to take a revenge, you need to dig two graves in which one of the grave is yours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gunjan Saxsena: The Kargil Girl (2020)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yeh Duniya kitni mushkil hai auraton ke liye par uska hal pinjre mein qaid ho jaana nahi hai balki pinjra todka kr udd jana hai&#8221;- Pankaj Tripathi<\/p>\n<p>This World is difficult is for Women but the solution is not to cage yourself but to break free of this cage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shershaah (2021)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tiranga Lehra kar aaunga, nahi toh usmein lipat ke aaunga lekin aaunga zaroor&#8221;- Siddharth Malhotra<\/p>\n<p>One of the most chilling dialogues in the movie Shershaah. This dialogue talks about how a soldier is promising his family of his come back either in a coffin or alive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mumbai Saga (2021)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dhokhe ki khasiyaat hai ki dene wala aksar koi khaas hi hota hai&#8221;- John Abraham<\/p>\n<p>This dialogue from Mumbai Saga is another one of those relatable dialogues, as it talks about how the betrayal always comes from the one&#8217;s closest to us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; We\u2019re a country of movie lovers.
