Chetan Bhagat is one of those successful writers of India, whose novels inspired some of the greatest Bollywood movies with the best of actors starring in the main roles. He is not just an Indian author, but also screenwriter, columnist, television personality and motivational speaker.
\nHis hilarious personality can be noted in his writing style as well as his social media presence. Even his tweet recently went viral when he claimed to have joined Congress and attached a link of \u201cApril Fool\u2019s Day\u201d along.<\/p>\n

Here is the list of his novels which have been made into movies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Five Point Someone<\/strong><\/p>\n

Five Point Someone is a novel about three friends from different backgrounds, who are dealing with pressure and struggling to achieve better grades at IIT. The novel was loved by every student who could relate to high level of stress when it comes to studies,\u00a0although while having best friends around. No doubt, it inspired the movie \u201cThree Idiots\u201d starring Aamir Khan in 2009, which was a box office hit and bagged the best-ever collection of that time. It still is one of the favourite movies of people in India.<\/p>\n

2. 2 states: The Story of My marriage<\/strong><\/p>\n

Based on Chetan Bhagat\u2019s own life, the novel brought out the unpleasant truth present in Indian society when it comes to marriage. When two people from different caste or religion fall in love, it is a big deal in Indian society and even parents do not show support. But, after considering everyone\u2019s point of view and keeping patience, and after a lot of flattering the love interest\u2019s parents, let\u2019s say, love conquers all. It inspired the movie \u201cTwo States\u201d, starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor and the movie was another hit.<\/p>\n

3. The 3 Mistakes of my Life<\/strong><\/p>\n

The novel revolves around moral, social and religious dilemmas, and was successful in making hearts melt and in some cases, even tears roll down. Based in the city of Ahmedabad, the book is about cricket, religion, business, love and friendship. The story deepened describing the Bhuj earthquake and infamous Gujarat riots which took place in reality.
\nBollywood movie \u201cKai Po Che\u201d was inspired by it, which brought limelight to the three young talented actors, Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh, who are doing quite well in industry after the release.<\/p>\n

4. One Night @ The Call Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

The story about six friends working in a Call Center is exciting and gets you goosebumps a few times when you turn pages. These friends are dealing with their own set of problems, but then one night, a call from someone special changes the way they perceive life. The novel was first to have turned into a movie in 2008. Although, the movie \u201cHello\u201d, starring Salman Khan received average reviews as it had modified characters and scenes of the book and was criticised for a poor script.<\/p>\n

5. Half Girlfriend<\/strong><\/p>\n

Half Girlfriend inspired a movie by the same name starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor and is the most recent release. Depicting the cultural differences once again, the novel tells a story of a young Bihari boy, who doesn\u2019t even speak proper English but falls in love with a high-class English speaking rich girl from Delhi. It is a story written for teenagers who are never sure how they feel about someone until it is too late. There are misunderstandings and immaturity which breaks up good friendships and no doubt, youngsters were able to relate to the excellent storyline.<\/p>\n

Chetan Bhagat is going to turn 43 on April 22nd but still knows what the youth of modern India goes through, which is why everyone waits for his next book. His stories are top-notch in making everyone reminisce their young days and old friendships.<\/p>\n
