Every year lakhs of aspirants take part in PCS Exam which is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). Provincial Civil Services, abbreviated as PCS, is the pathway which leads to an administrative career in the Uttar Pradesh Government. The successful candidates after undergoing training are placed in various districts, divisions, and sub-divisions in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year the pattern of the exam has undergone various changes which you can check below:<\/span><\/p>\n

Application form, Exam Date, and Admit Card-<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The online application process starts on- 6th July 2018<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 and ends on \u2013 6th August 2018<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Admit card- 10th August to 12th August<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 UPPCS Written Examination Date- 19th August 2018<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Result declaration- September 2018<\/span><\/p>\n

Eligibility for appearing in the UPPCS Exam-<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The individual must be a citizen of India.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Candidate should have domicile of Uttar Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Age- 21 years to 40 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Candidate must be at least graduate ( belonging to any stream background).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important changes in the pattern of examination –<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Application correction:<\/strong> From this year a window for correction will be provided.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Wrong answers:<\/strong> The major change in the preliminary examination this time is the change in marking scheme which is directly going to affect your merit list. Unlike earlier rules, the 1\/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. (Earlier 1\/4th mark was deducted)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Optional subjects:<\/strong> From this year there will be only one optional subject for mains examination. (Earlier there were two optional subjects).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Interview:<\/strong> From this year, the weight of the interview will be only 100 marks (which was earlier 200 marks)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 New Post in PCS:<\/strong> The post of the PCS (Combined State\/Upper Subordinate Services), Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), Range Forest Officer (RFO) is scheduled to be filled by the UPPCS examination process.<\/span><\/p>\n

The exam is conducted in three parts-<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Mains Examination<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 Interview<\/span><\/p>\n

Only those who clear the Prelims examination can appear for mains examination.
\n<\/span><\/strong>The prelims exam will have two papers and both are to be cleared for appearing in the mains examination.<\/span><\/p>\n

Geometry:-<\/strong> Constructions and theorems regarding triangle, rectangle, square, trapezium and circles, their perimeter and area, Volume and surface area of a sphere, right circular cylinder, right circular Cone and Cube.<\/span><\/p>\n

Statistics:-<\/strong> Collection of data, Classification of data, frequency, frequency distribution, tabulation, cumulative frequency. Representation of data \u2013 Bar diagram, Pie chart, histogram, frequency polygon, cumulative frequency curves (ogives), Measures of Central Tendency: Arithmetic mean, Median and Mode.<\/span><\/p>\n

General HINDI:<\/strong> Question-answer from Unseen passage, Abstraction, Government and Semi-government letter, telegram, official orders, notification, circular writing, Knowledge of words and uses, Uses of Prefix and Suffix, Antonyms, One-word substitution, Spelling and Sentence correction, Idioms and Phrases.<\/span><\/p>\n

INTERVIEW:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 The weight of the interview is 100 marks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 There is no specific pattern and syllabus of the interview.<\/span><\/p>\n
