It is a real pleasure eating <em>samosas<\/em> over chit-chat with your family and friends with some nice home made coriander and mint chutney and tea or coffee. Its available in most <em>chaat<\/em> and <em>mithai<\/em> shops. However, it gives immense joy to create something on your own. Its fairly easy to make <em>Punjabi samosa<\/em> and you can be sure of the quality. The filling in samosa is mostly potatoes. However, it is easy to create your own variation by adding green peas, <em>paneer<\/em>, or for non-vegetarians, some shredded chicken. Whatever be your filling, <em>samosa<\/em> always satisfies you. This recipe takes you through the pleasure journey of creating an amazing <em>Punjabi samosa<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients needed for\u00a0Punjabi Samosa<\/h2>\n<p><em>Maida<\/em> &#8211; 1 cup<\/p>\n<p><em>Ajwain<\/em> &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/p>\n<p>Boiled and mashed potatoes &#8211; 2<\/p>\n<p>Green chilies chopped &#8211; 1<\/p>\n<p>Red chili powder &#8211; 1tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Garam masala<\/em> &#8211; 1tsp<\/p>\n<p><em>Amchoor<\/em> &#8211; 1tsp<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Oil for frying<\/p>\n<h2>How to make Punjabi Samosa<\/h2>\n<p>Knead the <em>maida<\/em> with <em>ajwain<\/em> into slightly thick dough with water and some oil.<\/p>\n<p>Keep it covered with damp cloth for about half an hour.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. When it is hot, add boiled potatoes, salt, red chili powder,<em> amchoor, garam masala<\/em> and green chili in a bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.<\/p>\n<p>Take lemon size dough and roll it to 6 inches in diameter.<\/p>\n<p>Cut it into half.<\/p>\n<p>Use the potato filling in each half and seal the edges.<\/p>\n<p>Heat the oil in a pan.<\/p>\n<p>When the oil is very hot, fry the samosas till golden brown from all the sides.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot <em>Punjabi samosa<\/em> with coriander and mint chutney.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Punjabi samosa is one of the all-time favourite snacks from north India.
