Prepared with the traditional kuttu ka atta, this delectable recipe is must-try during your <em>vrat<\/em> of Navratri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An easy-to-prepare recipe which does not let you compromise on the taste.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recipe<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>For the potato filling:<\/strong> Boil 3-4 potatoes and keep aside. Heat some ghee in a pan. Add the mashed boiled potatoes, rock salt, 1\/2 tablespoon red chili powder, and 1\/2 tablespoon finely chopped green chilies and ginger to the oil. Cook the potatoes until it turns light brown in color. Keep aside.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>For the dosa:<\/strong> Add one cup of kuttu ka atta, water and two tablespoons of yogurt in a mixing bowl to make a smooth batter. Sprinkle rock salt and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Put a dosa tava on a low heat. Pour one ladle of dosa batter on the tava and spread it. Let it cook for a minute and then pour some drops of oil all over. Once cooked, spread the potato filling in between and remove the dosa from the tava. But to relish the same recipe on a fasting day becomes a boon. With the onsetting of the Navratri season, let&#8217;s revive this traditional recipe with the flavors of Navratri.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recipe<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Kuttu ki poori:<\/strong> Take 2 cups of kuttu ka atta in a bowl and add 1\/2 teaspoon of cumin powder and rock salt to it. Add 1 cup of boiling water to it and mix well. Once the mixture has cooled down, start kneading the mixture into a smooth dough. The dough should not be sticky otherwise it would be difficult to prepare the pooris. Now start making small balls of this dough and give these balls the shape of the pooris. Heat cooking oil in a kadai and fry these pooris until golden brown.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Aloo ki sabzi:<\/strong> Boil 5-6 potatoes in a pressure cooker. Once they are boiled, peel and keep them aside to cool. For the tadka, pour some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, hing, and dry red chilies. Once theses ingredients are cooked, add about four chopped tomatoes, some chopped green chilies, and rock salt. Let the tomatoes cook for about 10 minutes on a simmer flame. Now add the boiled potatoes in the pan and mix well. After 5 minutes, add water to the sabzi. Let it boil for 7-8 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. For the people keeping fasts for Navratri, relishing a sweet dish, whether a kheer or a halwa, is a must. Singhara is not just about pooris or tikkis on a fasting day, it can also be used to prepare delectable sheera loaded with dry fruits.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recipe<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Heat 3 cups of water in a pan and add 1 cup of sugar into it. Let the sugar melt in the water on a low flame. Meanwhile, add one cup ghee in a non-stick pan and add one cup singhare ka atta into it. Let the mixture roast on a medium flame until it turns brown in color. Make sure you keep on stirring the mixture while it is roasting. When the mixture starts resembling like coarse crumbles, add cardamom powder. Now slowly add the sugar concoction into the pan. Keep on stirring the sheera until it thickens. Turn the gas off and garnish it with roasted nuts. Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">5. It makes you feel satiated for hours and provides energy during fasting. This khichdi is not only tasteful but also healthy to be relished during Navratri fasting.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recipe<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rinse the sabudana well with water until the starch gets removed. Transfer the sabudana to a bowl and add water to it. Keep it overnight. Drain the excess water from the bowl. In a pan, heat some oil. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Add some diced potatoes and cook them for about 3-4- minutes. Once they are cooked, add the raw peanuts and cook again for 3-4 minutes. After the peanuts have turned brown, add sabudana to the pan with salt and sugar. Keep stirring and cooking until the sabudana turns translucent.
