There’s a beach break<\/a> and when the wave starts to get 7 feet high they move out towards the nearby lighthouse. Otherwise, near the beach, there would be lots of inside waves<\/a> and hollow & short rights and lefts. Today whatever it is, it is due to the result of millions of years of the lava flow that extended into the water. The waves here can rise as high as 400 metres! The tides are at their full glory in the period of autumn and winter. And, on the top of that, this place is relatively unknown, so lots of exploring and discovering are on the cards. Plus, no matter at what stage of surfing you are, this place is right for anyone. Lots of south winds flow here, which are a clear-cut recipe for some howl-worthy waves. It is said that this is one of the windiest places on the planet. So, you know what that means. A perfect date with the cool waters is guaranteed. The waves are great here and you’ll come back with an ocean full of memories. It is better to take your own board as the rented ones can quickly run out. There is also a big statue of Tiruvallur, a Tamil saint and poet on a nearby island.<\/span><\/p>\n

The beach’s coastline is about 6 km, that permits all sorts of surfing waves \u2013 big, small, huge, almost everything you’d want. However, don’t expect surfing clubs and contests here since the ‘wave of surfing craze’ is yet to hit this zone. From north to south, there are a number of hot surfing spots in the region. Months from May to September are counted as the best months to run into the waters with boards. However, it’s a little difficult to get there, but it’s worth the effort once you see the boisterous waves there. A little ask-around with locals is sure to help. We have saved the foregone surfing destination for the last. Definitely the most popular one, the beach town Goa can generously offer you waves as high as 5-10 feet. The best time, however, is to catch them towards the end of May and beginning of June. The surfing enthusiasts sure get the kick, but in addition, Goa also provides opportunities for rafting, kayaking, and parasailing, that too in the right middle of the sea!
