So, who are all those best male singers who have taken the bar high, made us go through the whirlwind ride of music, and left us agape in 2018? 1. Arijit Singh<\/strong><\/p>\n

He is the ‘it’ singer of Bollywood. And, the fact is not even up for debates, since every other Bollywood song coming up has Arijit’s voice. The now staple singer of Bollywood tasted success right from the beginning of his singing career and his winning streak is continuing till date. Well, most know him as a singer, but Singh’s talent sphere is spread to a music producer, composer, and music programmer as well. He has made music for various advertisements as well.<\/p>\n

He got Mirchi Music Awards nomination for Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year in 2013 for songs ‘Phir Le Aya Dil’ (Barfi) and ‘Duaa’ (Shanghai). Not surprisingly, he managed to win the award for the latter. His upbeat singing style and the strong feels he induces with his deep and soulful voice sways our hearts and bodies in one rhythm. In 2013, he had a chart-busting record with super hits like Phir Mohabbat (Murder 2); Dilliwaali Girlfriend, Kabira and Ilahi (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani); and the Laal Ishq (Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela). At one end, he has the power to make us dance, and at the other, he can turn us moist-eyed. And, he covers everything between the extremes of the spectrum as well.<\/p>\n

He has an immovable reputation and a great presence in the industry. With soulful songs like Mast Magan (2 States), Samjhawan (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania), Sajde (Kill Dil), Roke Na Ruke Naina (Badrinath Ki Dulhania), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (the title movie), he sure knows how to touch hearts and then stay in them. First, he sang the ‘Aaj Se Teri’ in the mega-hit Padman and then the trademark ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. 2018 has been resonating vibrantly from his notable numbers from the movies like from 102 Not Out, Veere Di Wedding, Karwaan, and Baazaar. What Arijit is now, was Mohit a few years back. Yes, the staple. However, his charm is unfadable, like all the legends. He is still ruling the charts and has an irreplaceable place in our hearts and playlists. He has always been the blue-eyed boy with the golden voice. There is a breeze of fresh air feel to each of his song. His Guncha from 2005 is as tuneful as it could be. However, his career graph spiked when Rang De Basanti came out in 2006 and his song Khoon Chala released. His presence became further profound with ‘Tum Se Hi’ (Jab We Met). That was his legit rise-to-fame moment. It, of course, took only very less time by top composers to see the endless potential in him, and after that, he was on a ride and delivered droves of hits. And, it ‘s not that only people love him, he has his fair share of critical acclaim as well. With being a lead singer of 9 songs of Rockstar – each one of which was a hit \u2013 he unlocked another level for a playback singer. His honours and awards list (1 IIFA Award, 2 Filmfare Awards, 1 Screen Award, and 3 Zee Cine Awards) is a firm affirmation of the fact how much he has been loved by critics.<\/p>\n

With the impassioned Is This Love (Kismat Konnection), Tujhko Jo Paaya (Crook), Tujhe Bhula Diya (Anjaana Anjaani), he can surface feelings to the moon and back. He also kept us lightly delighted with soul-stirring melodies like Masakali (Delhi-6), Mann Lafanga (Lafangey Parindey), Pee Loon (Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai). In 2018, he sang for Padman, 3 Storeys, Dil Juunglee, and more.<\/p>\n

So, verdict? His profound growth and establishment as the chart-ruler is here to stay.<\/p>\n

3. Mika Singh<\/strong><\/p>\n

There’s a saying that goes like that there’s no party complete without the songs of Mika. You can see this as he is a singer having his prime genre as Bhangra! Besides being a singer, he has a star reputation, if you know what I mean. Singh has quite a stage presence and has acted in a number of reality shows. He has been a live performer, bringing people in droves. And, unlike other singers, he is not entirely dependent on B’wood film offers. He keeps releasing his own albums, with which he has quite a successful record. And, that is no surprise, if you’ve heard him. He has this lurking mischievous tone in almost all of his songs, that one can’t help but just get drawn in and give in to the magic. Whenever there is his song playing, the party is not far, and vice versa. With a career of 20 years in the industry, he still has the unrelenting drive to effortlessly entertain people. He might be getting on in years, but the aura is same \u2013 a young, playful energy.<\/p>\n

We knew we had a hitmaker in him right from 1998 when Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag came out. He has delivered some great dance numbers in Dil Mein Baji Guitar (Apna Sapna Money Money), Ganpat (Shootout at Lokhandwala), Mauja Hi Mauja (Jab We Met), and Singh Is Kinng (the title film). He has gifted us with more in some peppy numbers like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Dhinka Chika, Dhanno, Saari Duniya Mere Ispe, Saj Dhaj Ke, and 440 Volt. It seems like the composer just knows it is made for Mika when they see the title of the song.<\/p>\n

In 2018, too, he rocked it with Party Chale On (Race 3), Bhoot Aaya (Nanu Ki Jaanu) and a few more. Party vibe is in the air! And will be there in ’19, ’20 and forever. His music is eternal.<\/p>\n

Prodigy, is he? Well, for someone who has already been getting counted among the likes of Mohit Chauhan and Arijit Singh at an age of just 23, one is got to be. And, music is just in veins of this youngster for his three family generations have been in music. His father is Daboo Malik, an occasional singer and music director. And, his uncle is (the) Anu Malik. A sound background, literally! For a newbie, he already has success stories written for him. His ‘Mechanical Sundariye’ from 2.0 and ‘Theher Ja’ from October are the most rememberable from 2018. He has a trail of hits behind him from yesteryear as well – notable among which are Sau Aasmaan (Baar Baar Dekho), Tumhe Apna Banane Ka (Hate Story 3), Main Hoon Hero Tera (Hero), Naina (Khoobsurat), and so many others. With such a great record in place, we are completely sure that his complete victory tales are yet to be written, his best masterpieces are yet to be listened, and his best dance numbers are yet to be released. And, we are waiting patiently, yet anxiously.<\/p>\n

5. Ankit Tiwari<\/strong><\/p>\n

We knew we had a future music sensation in Ankit when we heard the Sunn Raha Hai (Aashiqui 2). He started off at a really good note (pun intended). For those who don’t know, the song was composed as well by him. Quite a talent store, isn’t he? The same is the story for the song Galliyan (from the title movie) \u2013 both sung and composed by him. For this one, he bagged Best Male Playback Singer Award from Filmfare. He continued on the path to success with the hits like nostalgic Tu Hai Ki Nahi (Roy) and the catchy Dil Cheez Tujhe Dedi (Airlift), to name a few. He has that warm pain in his voice, the stuff which all soul and heart touching music is made up of. There are very few artists for whom we wait anxiously for their next venture, because we know we’ll be having another moving experience of life.
