Sure enough, 2018 has been a roller coaster ride, with a couple of downs, and some memorable ups.<\/p>\n<p>Our Wonder Women have once again proven that gone are the days of lagging one step behind. Several beautiful, resilient women have showcased what it&#8217;s like to walk with their head held high, making the country proud. While the list remains endless, we bring to you six women who made us all proud Indians in 2018. Appointed in April 2018, she became the first-ever woman Justice in the Supreme Court. In 2007, she was designated a senior advocate in the apex court, the second woman to have been given the title.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Indu Malhotra was part of the Supreme Court bench that passed the historic judgement, striking down portions of Section 377 in September 2018.<br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Flight Lieutenant Avani Chaturvedi<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/society\/women-achievers-of-2018\/attachment\/flight-lieutenant-avani-chaturvedi\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-82161\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-82161\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/Flight-Lieutenant-Avani-Chaturvedi.jpg\" alt=\"Flight-Lieutenant-Avani-Chaturvedi\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/Flight-Lieutenant-Avani-Chaturvedi.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/Flight-Lieutenant-Avani-Chaturvedi-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/Flight-Lieutenant-Avani-Chaturvedi-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Avani Chaturvedi created history by becoming one of the first women fighter pilots in India, alongside- Mohana Singh and Bhawana Kanth.<\/p>\n<p>She was promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant this year, having already been inducted into the squadron back in 2016. In February 2018, Avani became the country&#8217;s first-ever women pilot to fly a MiG-21. With her pursuit of the skies not slowing down, the young pilot sure has many more milestones ahead.<br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>MC Mary Kom<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/society\/women-achievers-of-2018\/attachment\/mc-mary-kom\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-82163\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-82163\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/MC-Mary-Kom.jpg\" alt=\"MC-Mary-Kom\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/MC-Mary-Kom.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/MC-Mary-Kom-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2018\/12\/MC-Mary-Kom-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Having been India&#8217;s star daughter for quite some time now, Mary Kom has once again proven this year why she is considered \u201cthe best of the best\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Bagging a gold medal for herself in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, she later went on to win the World Championships in October, the same year. In June this year, she became the first Indian cricketer to reach 2000 runs in T20 innings. In Commonwealth Games 2018, Batra led the Indian women&#8217;s table tennis team to its first-ever finals victory. The team bagged a gold medal, defeating the standing champions, Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>She also won a silver, along with Mouma Das in the doubles for CWG 2018, another first feat. Not only that, but Manika also bagged the individual gold medal in the event. In Forbes India list of the richest celebrities 2018, the actress appeared at the 4<sup>th<\/sup> place.
