There is no better way than to relish some hot savoury snacks which, by the way, are also very nutritious. We&#8217;ve sifted through zillion snack recipes for the cold weather and finally curated a list of winter snacks which ticks boxes of everything from taste to nutrition to ease of making. Read on to find what you can nibble on this season.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>I. Spicy Paneer with Beetroot &amp; Cranberry Chutney<\/strong>: Give the combination of cheese and mint a rest and take the dips of cranberry chutney instead. The lovely pink colour of it will have you drooling. Moreover, it&#8217;s salubrious through and through.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>For Marinade:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 Tbsp olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">250 g cottage cheese, cut into cubes or any other desired shape<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Salt and pepper, to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>For Chutney:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 Tbsp fennel powder and pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/2 Tbsp olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Salt, to taste<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">10 curry leaves<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">2 jalapenos, sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 tsp ginger garlic red chili paste<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/2 Tbsp Mustard seeds<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">A pinch of asafoetida<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 tsp cumin seeds<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 tsp lemon juice<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">cranberries (frozen)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/2 cup coconut milk<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/2 cup beetroot, grated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>For Garnishing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">4-5 coriander leaves<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Spring onions, sliced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>To prepare cheese:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">1. First, marinate the cotton cheese anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes in a mix of olive oil, pepper, and salt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2. Now, sear in a pan with olive oil until golden brown colour appears.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>To prepare the chutney:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">1. Take a pan and heat oil. Now fry asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and cumin seeds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2. Fry for about 30 seconds. Now, add grated beetroot along with fresh frozen cranberries. Simmer for about 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">3. Season with pepper, salt, and lemon juice. Garnish with sliced onion and coriander.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Serve with cottage cheese.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>II. Spinach and Feta Crepes:<\/strong> Breakfast, brunch, or evening snack, these crepes always come to rescue calming down those hunger pangs. And, moreover, they are over the top nutritious. Perfect snacks to spice up winters!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>For crepes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/4 cup milk (skimmed or whole fat)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/3 cup water<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/2 cup flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 tsp honey<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1\/8 cup butter, melted<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 tbsp vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">A pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">extra butter for crisping crepe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>For the filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">100 g Greek yogurt (whisked)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">150 g feta cheese (crumbled)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">2 tbsp honey<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">200 g spinach, chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">1. Mix well all the ingredients listed for crepes. Whisk gently so that no lumps are formed. Now, refrigerate the whole mix for a minimum of 2 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2. Take a pan and heat it over medium flame. Grease with oil. Take 2 tbsp crepe batter and pour on the pan such that it covers whole of its area. Ensure that the batter is evenly spread.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">3. Let it stay for a while and then flip it. Now, begin the filling with the feta and spinach. Cover only half of it and flip over the other half over the filled half. Now, flip the entire crepe and let it crisp to your liking, pouring more oil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">4. Serve with honey and greek style yogurt.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>III. Vegetable Pakoda:<\/strong> There&#8217;s no other hot snack like pakoda. And, we are not talking about devouring the low-in-nutrition oil-soaked dollops of besan. What we are raving about is the refreshing vegetables-packed gram flour bunched together to create a great treat. It&#8217;s healthy, it&#8217;s nutritious, and oh-so lip smacking. Nothing better than indulging in some pakoda fun on a winter evening.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">40 g onion<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">40 g carrot<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">120 g besan<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">40 g potato<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">40 g mint chutney<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">40 g capsicum<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">40 ml sunflower oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">20 g corn flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 piece banana leaf<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 g chaat masala<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">1. Take all the vegetables and mix them properly with besan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2. Deep fry the mix until golden brown colour develops.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">3. Now, remove it from the pan and cut into small parts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">4. Toss with chaat masala and serve hot with mint chutney.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>IV. Almond and Cranberry Poha<\/strong>: How about we make evergreen delicious poha more nutritious by adding the goodness of cranberries? This almond sprinkled eternal-breakfast snack takes care of both hunger and nutritional levels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">450 g onion<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">200 g almond flakes<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">100 g fresh coconut<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">100 g cranberries (dried\/frozen)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">200 g poha<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">20 ml oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">15 g salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">5 g green chilies<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">15 g curry leaves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">1. Take poha and soak it in cold water. After a while, strain it and keep aside. Take almonds and roast 1\/4th of them and soak the rest in water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2. Grab a pan and pour oil in it. Saut\u00e9 the curry leaves, mustard seeds, and chopped green chilies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">3. Now, add the soaked poha in the fry mix with almonds and add seasoning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">4. Add grated coconut, chopped coriander, toasted almonds, and cranberries in it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">5. Serve hot with garnished coriander.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>V. Chocolate Samosa:<\/strong> No, potato samosas haven&#8217;t lost their charm. But, we do take things one notch higher once in a while and this is exactly what we&#8217;re doing with swapping the good old mix with everyone&#8217;s favourite &#8211; chocolate. Evening snack or after-dinner dessert &#8211; gorge on it the way you want. The charm will never get old!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>For dough:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">350 g desi ghee<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 kg refined flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">10 g black cardamom seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>For filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">250 g almonds, roasted<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">1 kg sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">500 g chocolate block<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">100 g pistachio, roasted<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">250 g cashew nuts, roasted<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Frying oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">2.5 g garam masala powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">1. Prepare a mix of desi ghee, refined flour, and crushed black cardamom seeds. Add water and flour to the mix slowly, kneading lightly. Set it aside until you prepare the filling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2. To make the filling, heat the chocolate until it melts and then add roasted crushed dry fruits in it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">3. Now, take the dough and make small balls out of it, about 30 g each. Now, flatten each ball into a thin sheet with the help of roller pin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">4. Cut the sheet in the middle and fold each one in the shape of a cone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">5. Fill the cone form with chocolate. Rub with little water at the edges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">6. Bring together the edges and form pleat on one side.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">7. Seal it well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">8. Repeat the procedure and make more samosas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">9. Heat oil in a pan and put samosas in it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">10. Fry them until they become crusty and\u00a0golden colour appears.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">11.
