Good news for all of those who are big on messaging. How many times have we faced the discomfort of suddenly switching to WhatsApp after remembering to message something important to our bosses while we were leisure chatting on Instagram? These annoying and lazy moments are soon going to be the thing of past if Mark Zuckerberg is to be believed. And, he is pretty convincing. According to a recent announcement, Facebook Decides to Merge WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. And for us users, this means we can message across all platforms while being on one. No more tedious hustle of sifting through apps. Just one (or more) message, one app, and whoop! Your work is done.<\/p>\n

The Official Wording<\/strong><\/p>\n

This would be the first time these Zuckerberg-owned social media would get integrated. The individual services, nevertheless, would remain standalone and work as they have been. An official statement released by Facebook goes as follows: \u201cWe want to build the best messaging experiences we can; and people want messaging to be fast, simple, reliable and private. We\u2019re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks. As you would expect, there is a lot of discussion and debate as we begin the long process of figuring out all the details of how this will work.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is a Lot in This for Facebook<\/strong><\/p>\n

While we are in for the ‘best messaging experience’, Facebook can also hope to benefit through it and make hefty bucks. For one, it can bring more user engageability as there will be one big comprehensive system for transferring of messages across different apps. Next, with a profound customer base, it can bring in more advertisers on the board (Is that the sound of cash inflowing, I’m hearing?). And lastly, with merging its assets this way, it can really bring about a large number of users in one place and can compete better with Google\u2019s messaging services and Apple\u2019s iMessage.<\/p>\n

However, the changes are yet to be made and Facebook hasn’t given a date from which these will be in effect. Guess we just have to wait for these amazing updations to happen. And, we will.<\/p>\n
