This metal is in high demand in the aeronautical industry, oil refineries and construction buildings. At present, the total reserves of bauxite for all grades are estimated to be 303.7 crore tonnes. The total resources of Bauxite as per the United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC) in India are about 3,290 million tonnes. Odisha is the largest producer of Bauxite in India. Other than Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Maharashtra are the principal producers of Bauxite in India.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Chromite<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=84998\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-84998\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-84998 size-full\" title=\"Chromite\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/chromite.jpg\" alt=\"Chromite\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/chromite.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/chromite-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/chromite-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chromite is a ferro-alloy metal. The ore of chromium is essential for manufacturing ferrochrome which is required for special steel chemicals and defence goods. As per UNFC, the total resources of Chromite in the country are estimated at 213 million tonnes. 95 per cent of chromite resources is in Orissa. It is also available in Maharashtra, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Copper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=85006\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-85006\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-85006 size-full\" title=\"Copper\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/copper.jpg\" alt=\"Copper\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/copper.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/copper-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/copper-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Copper is a non-ferrous mineral which possesses high corrosion resistance. India has large copper ore deposits in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The total resource of copper as ore is placed at 1.39 billion tonnes with a metal content of 11, 418 thousand tonnes. Copper resources are also available in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Meghalaya,<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Diamond<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=84999\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-84999\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-84999 size-full\" title=\"Diamond\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/diamond.jpg\" alt=\"Diamond\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/diamond.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/diamond-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/diamond-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Diamond deposits in India occur in three types of geological settings. They are \u2013 Alluvial gravels, conglomerate beds and kimberlite pipes. Diamonds can be procured in Panna belt in Maharashtra, Wajrakarur kimberlite pipe in Anantapur district, Munimadugu- Banganapalie conglomerate in Kurnool district and gravels of Krishna river basin in Andhra Pradesh. As per UNFC, diamonds are placed at nearly 4582 thousand carats.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Dolomite<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=85000\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-85000\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-85000 size-full\" title=\"Dolomite\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/dolomite.jpg\" alt=\"Dolomite\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/dolomite.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/dolomite-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/dolomite-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dolomite is a mineral which is widespread in almost all parts of the country. 90 per cent of the dolomite reserves are distributed in Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Chattisgarh, and Odisha. The dolomite reserves are placed at 7533 million tonnes as per UNFC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Fireclay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=85001\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-85001\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-85001 size-full\" title=\"Fireclay\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/fireclay.jpg\" alt=\"Fireclay\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/fireclay.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/fireclay-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/fireclay-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fireclay, which is a very hard and durable ceramic material mineral, it occurs as a bedded deposit and is usually associated with coal measures of Gondwana and Tertiary periods. About 705 million tonnes of fireclay reserves are present in India. Jharia in Jharkhand, Raniganj in West Bengal, Korba coalfield in Chattisgarh and Neyveli Lignite field in Chattisgarh have large deposits of fireclay.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Gold<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=85002\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-85002\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-85002 size-full\" title=\"Gold\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/gold.jpg\" alt=\"Gold\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/gold.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/gold-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/gold-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Used for making ornaments, gold is one of the most precious metals used in India. It has both domestic and industrial uses. In India, currently, gold mines are located at three places \u2013 Kolar Gold Field of Kolar district, Hatti Gold Field in Raichur district-both in Karnataka and Ramgiri Gold Field in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. The total recoverable reserves of gold in India are estimated to be at 17 million tonnes. The total source of gold ore was estimated at 390.29 million tonnes with the metal content of 490.81 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Graphite<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=85003\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-85003\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-85003 size-full\" title=\"Graphite\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/graphite.jpg\" alt=\"Graphite\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/graphite.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/graphite-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/graphite-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>An allotrope of carbon and one of the softest minerals in the world, Graphite is widely used in manufacturing writing equipment. The total resources of graphite in the country are placed at 168.77 million tonnes in which 43% accounts to Arunachal Pradesh, followed by Jammu and Kashmir at 37%. Jharkhand \u2013 6%, Tamil Nadu \u2013 5%, and Odisha \u2013 3%. The occurrence of this mineral is also reported from other states including Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and<br \/>\nChhattisgarh.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><strong>9. Limestone<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=85004\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-85004\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-85004 size-full\" title=\"Limestone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/limestone.jpg\" alt=\"Limestone\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/limestone.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/limestone-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/limestone-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Limestone is found in India in abundance as almost all states of India produce limestone in some amount. The major share of production of limestone comes from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. As per UNFC, the total limestone resources of all categories are placed at 1,69, 941 million tonnes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10. Mica<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/my-india\/?attachment_id=85005\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-85005\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-85005 size-full\" title=\"Mica\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/mica.jpg\" alt=\"Mica\" width=\"669\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/mica.jpg 669w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/mica-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mapsofindia.com\/ci-moi-images\/my-india\/2019\/04\/mica-665x348.jpg 665w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>India is the leading producer of sheet mica in the world and accounts for nearly 60 per cent of the mica trade worldwide. The total in situ reserves of the mica is placed at 3,93,855 tonnes.
