In fact, if noted professional networking site LinkedIn is to be believed, the best places to work for in India are mostly in this particular sector. Of the 25 top companies to work for in India, 12 of them happen to belong to this particular sector. This should tell you how good the companies in this sector are as employers. LinkedIn based its findings on the feedback of 54 million users in India, on parameters that included interest in the company, job demand, engagement with employees and employee retention. The study focused on companies having more than 500 employees.<\/p>\n

The top name on this list is that of Flipkart that is an internet based organization with offices at Delhi and Bangalore. The company is a homegrown ecommerce retailer and has dominated the Indian ecommerce sector like no other, ever since it was founded back in 2007 by Binny Bansal and Sachin Bansal, who both worked at Amazon at that time. Last year, US-based retail giant Walmart sealed an agreement with the promoters to acquire 77% stake in Flipkart.<\/p>\n

The sudden demonetisation in November 2016 catapulted the company into the public eye, as it gained recognition for its digital payments mechanism. Today, you can purchase everything ranging from milk, LPG cylinder, movie tickets to even gold through cashless transactions on Paytm.<\/p>\n
