OTT platforms as alternatives to cable and satellite television are here to stay, as Netflix brings in more and more interesting, varied, and innovative on-demand content. Netflix is one of the biggest names in the world of on-demand content that has a worldwide subscriber base of 137 million. As they aim to tap the Asian market, they plan to add 100 million subscribers from India alone.<\/p>\n

Netflix\u2019s chief content officer Ted Sarandos has said that there is a huge opportunity for the online streaming apps in India, as there are around 450 million internet users in the country. Of these, half of the users already watch YouTube and other services. Another important aspect is the growing number of Indian regional language internet users, which is expected to touch 536 million by 2021.<\/p>\n
