Midway through 2019, we have tried to organise and publish a list (in alphabetical order) of 52 eminent Indian personalities who have made news in the past 12 months. Some individuals just blazed a trail, some hit milestones while others left a tangible impact in various domains. The rankings are purely driven by Team MyIndia\u2019s own value judgements and thus have no organisational connect, representative or otherwise. Some of his prominent novels include The Circle of Reason, The Calcutta Chromosome, The Shadow Lines, Sea of Poppies<\/em> and The Hungry Tide.<\/em> Interestingly, The Shadow Lines<\/em> which was published in 1988, got him the honour of Sahitya Akademi Award. Meanwhile, his recent non-fiction includes The Great Derangement: Climate Change and the Unthinkable<\/em>. Kejriwal is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, and prior to launching the AAP, he was serving as an Indian Revenue Service Officer. Interestingly, in 2006, Kejriwal was honored with the Ramon Magsaysay Award for showing enthusiastic involvement in a movement known as Parivartan. In a felicitation ceremony that was held at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex of Imphal, Mary Kom was titled as \u201cMeethoi Leima\u201d, meaning an exceptional lady by the Government of Manipur. The biopic on Mary Kom grossed a whopping Rs.104 crores worldwide within one month of its release. Arjuna Award came her way for boxing in 2003, followed by Padma Bhushan for sports in 2013.
