Though more than half of Indian population lives in villages, but one who resides in cities and towns always crave to live in a pure ambiance like that of a village. City people keep looking for places to get a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One such place close to Delhi is Pratapgarh Farms where you can experience the rural life of a small village for a day. The Farm is located in Jhajjar, Haryana at a distance of about 55 km from Delhi. By road it takes about two and a half hours to reach Pratapgarh Farms. It is really a very serene place with lush green fields, fun filled activities and pure rural food. So you can plan a weekend trip to Pratapgarh Farms with family and friends. These farms remain closed during summer and get opened after mid of August.<\/p>\n

Last year, during winters we planned a weekend trip with family and friends to this place. We started from Delhi at about 8:00 AM and reached Pratapgarh\u00a0Farms at about 10:30 PM. As kids were also with us so we packed lots of stuff for them to eat on the way.<\/p>\n

Before reaching Pratapgarh Farms, fields and open space welcomes you. Going through the fields itself was a wonderful experience that you do not get to see in Delhi. There is an entry ticket of Rs 1230 for adults and Rs 690 for kids between 5-10 years of age.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kids were really amazed to see fresh sugarcane and radish that they picked and kept with them for the whole day. Tea, snacks, Jalebi, and many other such food items were available throughout the day. On reaching there we enjoyed tea with pakoras. It was really delicious and were needed to get rid of the tiredness of the long drive. Then we thought of exploring the whole place and to our surprise there was lot more than what we expected. The whole activities can keep you busy throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Camel ride was the first thing that we did, followed by tractor and bullock cart ride. If you want to enjoy fields and field work then you can visit the farms where you can even pluck vegetables. If you wish to play games like badminton, cricket, table tennis, etc then there is a provision for the same. You can also enjoy mud bath as well as tube well bath. We haven\u2019t done that as it was quite cold that day. Keep appropriate clothes for the same.<\/p>\n

After enjoying these activities we headed for the lunch that was in the form of buffet. The food tastes awesome and good to eat but do not expect too high quality.<\/p>\n

We then played ethic games – pithoo and tug of war. Kids have thoroughly enjoyed the tug of war. There were many relaxing and beauty activities such as mehndi, mud and gulabari packs and head massage. You can also take part in rural creative activities such as pottery, mud lep<\/em>, and painting and rural domestic activities like cooking on hearth, grinding grains, making ghee and butter milk, etc. Visit Rural Market \u2013 Haat for bangles, colourful footwear and handicraft products. So fun is never ending at Pratapgarh Farms.<\/p>\n

If you really want to enjoy the place then visit Pratapgarh Farms in a group. Moreover, in groups it is really safe to drive back in the evening. Try reaching early as the farms get closed by 5:30 PM. Whether going in a big or a small group it is better to register prior to your visit.<\/p>\n
