The chairman of ISRO K Sivan and his team recovered quickly after the Chandrayaan-2 failure in soft landing on the Moon. This frustration did not let the morale of the ISRO team down. They came back roaring and began working entirely on their future missions to bring more success in India’s space programmes.

Busy schedule for ISRO

The space organisation has a busy schedule in the following year to complete its mission to touch new heights in 2020; it has set up a goal to launch around a dozen key satellite missions before March 2020. Scientists in ISRO have left no stone unturned and are working tirelessly for their upcoming missions. Overall, 13 missions are in its menu-six launch vehicle missions and seven satellite mission.

Aditya L1 set to launch in 2020

ISRO chairman K Sivan said, “We are targeting to launch over ten satellite missions next year. They will include advanced communication satellites Gisat1 and Gisat-12R and earth observation satellites Risat-2BR2 and Microsat (for surveillance). We are also targeting to launch Aditya L1 (Sun) mission by mid-2020 and the first unmanned test-flight of Gaganyaan in December.”

India’s first solar mission

The Aditya L1 mission would be a new venture for Indian space scientists. This would be the nation’s first solar mission to carry a spacecraft, work on this mission is progressing in full swing. The 400kg solar satellite will be able to study the Sun’s layers and the particle flux emanating from it along with the magnetic field variations.

Aditya L-1 is ready to make history next year by becoming the country’s first Sun observation mission. This satellite is expected to be put in a halo orbit around the Lagrangian point 1 (L1) which will in due time go into the solar orbit, which is 1.5 million km away from the earth. As experts believe its main advantage would be to view the Sun continuously without any eclipses.

No orbiter feature in Chandrayaan-3

Chandrayaan-3 is another important mission in the list of ISRO. Therefore, space scientists and engineers are busy designing and building an entirely new lander and rover. Chandrayaan-3 will have no orbiter feature of its own. Instead of orbiter feature, the lander and rover will be accompanied by an extra “detachable module” that fill the engine, and the requirement of fuel will take place for the journey. This mission will have a total of 6 orbit raises around the Earth and the Moon.

Gaganyaan human 10,000 crore mission

Moreover, ISRO is motivated to complete several missions in the coming years, like the first test-flight of Gaganyaan human mission in 2021. The Rs 10,000 crore mission has officially got a green signal with the launch of three human astronauts who will be sent to space to perform research for up to a week.

It is needless to add ISRO has made its target clear to put India in the list of reputed nations in space missions plan. It has already achieved a lot, but the hunger of success in our space scientists and engineers persist, and it will bring good news in the coming years, which will wipe out Chandrayaan-2 failure.

Related Links:

Top 6 Achievements of ISRO in 2019

Chandrayaan 2: ISRO Launches Country’s Most Powerful Spacecraft

The Chandrayaan-2 mission setback has rejuvenated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists and technocrats to go all out in their mission.
