Worst Bollywood movies of 2019<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With the end of 2019, we hope the end of the spree of bad films will also be in sight. To count the blessings first, every year, we are gifted with some brilliant movies. Making 2019 memorable are films like The Sky is Pink by Shonali Bose which has nurtured grief with such sensitivity or Gully Boy by Zoya Akhtar which is inspired by the lives of Indian street rappers from the Dharavi.<\/p>\n

At the same time, there are certain films which are sheer cinematic trash that we survived through.<\/p>\n

Here is my list of the worst movies of 2019:<\/h2>\n

1. Total Dhamaal<\/h2>\n

Bollywood Movie Total Dhamaal starring Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A star-studded adventure comedy, which is almost a blueprint of its first part Dhamaal, has terribly gone wrong. The film involves lots of cars, helicopters, absurdities in the form of confusion but what is missed is a good storyline.<\/p>\n

2. Kalank<\/h2>\n

Bollywood Movie Kalank starring Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A much-hyped film with multi-star cast, released almost at the beginning of 2019, Kalank is a sheer disaster. Set against a backdrop of the pre-independence era, this film is a tale of the binary relationship of love and shame (also read conflicts). Despite its huge star casts like Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt, Kalank could not be saved from failing at the box office collection, and hence it has once again proven the importance of a good script.<\/p>\n

3. PM Narendra Modi<\/h2>\n

Bollywood Movie PM Narendra Modi starring Vivek Oberoi, Boman Irani, Barkha Bisht<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From the director of Mary Kom, Omung Kumar presented us with yet another biopic and this time; it is on our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Released right before 2019 Lok Sabha elections it is tagged as a propaganda movie by the audience and critics.<\/p>\n

4. Drive<\/h2>\n

Drive Movie starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vikramjeet Virk<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film was released not in the theatres but on Netflix. Drive was first thought to be an amalgamated version of Fast and Furious and Ocean\u2019s Eleven, however, remains an example of absurdity with its usual corrupt government and infamous thief tale.<\/p>\n

5. Jabariya Jodi<\/h2>\n

Jabariya Jodi Movie starring Sidharth Malhotra, Parineeti Chopra, Javed Jaffrey, Sanjay Mishra<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

What could be a bigger disappointment than seeing a substantial subject being wasted due to sheer lack of knowledge? Jabariya Jodi tapped into the theme of \u2018groom-kidnapping\u2019 which is still prevalent in some regions of India. Since it did not treat such a subject with dignity or the sensitivity it deserves, the movie doesn\u2019t even get close to detailing the perplexity of the issue.<\/p>\n

6. Saaho<\/h2>\n

Saaho Movie starring Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhas, Mandira Bedi, Jackie Shroff<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

An action-thriller by Sujeeth, Saaho is inspired by a French film called \u201cLargo Winch\u201d, without any thrill. Starring SS Rajamouli\u2019s Baahubali lead Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, the film can well be termed a disaster of the century. Despite top-notch action choreographers who have choreographed films like Game of Thrones and Transformers, Saaho could not be saved.<\/p>\n

7. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas<\/h2>\n

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas starring Karan Deol, Sahher Bambba, Simone Singh<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Nepotism does exist in Bollywood and Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is a true example of that. Starring Sunny Deol\u2019s son Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba, the film is a dearth of a story, good actors which lacks any sense.<\/p>\n

8. Housefull 4<\/h2>\n

Bollywood Movie Housefull 4 starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From the now popular genre of the comedy of errors, Housefull 4 is a mashup of nothing that we have not seen before. It has outdated jokes, along with crude and low-brow treatment of the film.<\/p>\n

9. Pagalpanti<\/h2>\n

Bollywood Movie Pagalpanti starring Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ileana D’Cruz, Arshad Warsi<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Anees Bazmee\u2019s directorial Pagalpanti is of the same genre of theatre of absurd which tries to be absurd by tapping into comedy but, audiences have outgrown such idiocy way back.<\/p>\n

10. Dabangg 3<\/h2>\n

Bollwood Movie Dabangg 3 starring Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Sudeep<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dabangg, a celebration \u2018Being Salman Khan\u2019 and Dabangg 3 have managed to add another feather on the hat of Sallu Bhai as he is also the co-writer of the film. Anyhow, the film turned out to be (as expected) a mixture of cliched, monotony and unethical comedy which takes pride in vigilantism.<\/p>\n
