Aam Aadmi supremo Arvind Kejriwal took oath as Delhi\u2019s chief minister for the third consecutive term in front of a huge gathering on Sunday at the Ramlila Ground. Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal administered the oath of office and secrecy at the swearing-in ceremony attended by people of all walks of life.<\/p>\n

Kejriwal seeks Modi\u2019s blessings<\/h1>\n

In his address after the swearing-in ceremony, Kejriwal said he likes to work cordially with the ruling party, the BJP to make Delhi the number one city and sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s blessings for smooth governance in the capital. He invited the prime minister Narender Modi to be part of this event; he didn\u2019t turn up due to his scheduled visit to his constituency Varanasi on the same day.<\/p>\n

Kejriwal is looking for cooperation from his rivals the BJP and Congress saying he has \u201cforgiven\u201d them for their controversial remarks made against him during the high voltage and aggressive election campaign. He thanked the Delhi voters and claimed the support the electorate of Delhi had given to the politics of work will help in building a 21st century India. He termed himself as a son of Delhi and chief minister of all regarding their party, religion or so on. Aam Aadmi Party secured a breathtaking victory in the Delhi assembly polls bagging 62 out of 70 seats.<\/p>\n

Six ministers get a cabinet berth<\/h2>\n

Along with Kejriwal, six ministers including his most trusted lieutenant\u00a0 Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Rajinder Pal Gautam and Imran Hussain also took oath as Ministers in the Delhi Cabinet. There is no new face, and all the six were holding a ministerial berth in the previous AAP government.<\/p>\n

Oath in different ways<\/h2>\n

Some ministers took oath in their ways. Gopal Rai, the Labour Minister in the previous government, took oath in the name of martyrs of freedom struggle. Rajinder Pal Gautam, who was Social Welfare Minister, took oath in the name of Buddha while Imran Hussain swore in the name of Allah. Meanwhile, the other three ministers swore in the name of God.<\/p>\n

No woman in Kejriwal\u2019s team<\/h2>\n

Despite raising his voice for the welfare and safety of women, providing free bus ride to women before polls. In his election campaign, Kejriwal talked a lot about women; surprisingly not a single woman has been featured in Kejriwal\u2019s new cabinet as eight women candidates – Atish Marlena, Rakhi Birla, Raj Kumari Dhillon, Preeti Tomar, Dhanwati Chandela, Parmila Tokas, Bhavna Gaur and Bandana Kumari won the 2020 Delhi assembly polls along with the other candidates. Atishi\u2019s name was in the air to get a cabinet berth but not considered in the end.<\/p>\n

50 special guests<\/h2>\n

The AAP party had invited 50 people from different walks of life of the society as special guests. They are dubbed as the \u2018Delhi ke Nirmata\u2019 (architects of Delhi). These people made a remarkable contribution in different fields in the last five years. Therefore, the AAP government acknowledged their performance and called them on this grand finale.<\/p>\n

Little Mufflerman wins the heart of all<\/h2>\n

All eyes were on one-year-old Aavyan Tomar known as \u201clittle Mufflerman\u201d. He was the special invitee by the AAP in Kejriwal\u2019s oath-taking ceremony. This little boy dressed like Kejriwal stole the show. Tomar was spotted on the result day celebrating with the AAP workers near the party\u2019s headquarter. Many boys were also seen dressed similar to Arvind Kejriwal.<\/p>\n

The Delhi Police made strict security arrangements during the oath-taking ceremony. Around 3,000 security personnel from Delhi Police and paramilitary forces were deployed on duty to thwart any untoward incident at the Ramlila Ground.
