Jayaram Biography

About

Jayaram Subramaniam is an Indian film actor who works in Malayalam and Tamil films. He is also a mimic artist and a chenda percussionist.

Personal Life

Jayaram was born on 10 December 1965 to Subramaniyam Iyyer and Thankam at Perumbavoor, Kerala. He is an Economics graduate from Sree Sankara College, Kalady. He married actress Parvathy on 7 September 1992. The couple has two children, Kalidas Jayaram and Malavika.

Career

After completing his graduation, Jayaram started out as a medical representative. Later he joined Kalabhavan in Kochi and performed mimicry many times on various stages. This helped him to make his space in the Malayalam film industry.

Script writer and filmmaker Padmarajan introduced him to the world of films and launched Jayaram in Aparan, which was released in 1988. Subsequently, Jayaram worked in Padmarajan’s other two films, Moonnam Pakkam in 1988 and Innale 1989. Jayaram became a superstar in 1993 after he worked in the film Meleparambil Aanveedu.

Apart from acting, he also tried his luck in singing. Some of the films in which he sang are Kadhanayakan, Ente Veedu Appoontem, Mayilattam, Thamarakannan, Sevenes, Pakarnnattam and Salaam Kashmir.
