Riya Sen Biography

Riya Sen belongs to a family that has a grand film history to its name. The Sens’ are favourites of the Bengali audience. Suchitra Sen is her grandmother and her mother Moonmoon Sen was a film actress who has acted in many Hindi and Bengali films.

Riya Sen is a trained Kathak Dancer. She has been acting in films since her childhood days when she first faced the camera for the film “Vishkanya” where she played the role of the young Pooja Bedi .At the age of 15, she worked in a Tamil film called “Taj Mahal” directed by the famous director Bharathiraaja. Finally she debuted as a heroine in Bollywood in the film “Style”,directed by N.Chandra.

Riya Sen has worked in various languages ranging from Bengali to Hindi besides Tamil and Malayalam and some English movies. She has been widely noted for her role in the Malayali film “Ananthabhadram”.

Riya Sen has been more active in music videos and advertisements. Her major assignments in the world of advertisement includes famous brands like Limca, Colgate, Cadbury, Vatika and above all Lakme, where she took the place of the famous glamour icon Lisa Ray. In music videos she has worked with renowned singers like Asha Bhonsle, Jagjit Singh, Falguni Pathak, Sonu Nigam and Shaan.
