Amisha Patel is an Indian actress. She was born in Mumbai on June 9, 1976. Born to Amit and Asha Patel, Amisha Patel started her career in films with her debut film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hain’ in 2000 opposite Hrithik Roshan.<\/p>\n
Being the only daughter, Amisha Patel was brought up with great care in a traditional but modern way. As the head girl of her school, she took part in most extracurricular activities and went on to win several awards in her school and college.<\/p>\n
Her brilliant academic performance brought her a chance to study economics at Tuft’s University in Boston, U.S.A. She came out with flying colours and won a gold medal in Economics. During her holidays in Mumbai she took up modelling as a part-time profession.<\/p>\n
After her return to India, Amisha joined a financial company but was soon bored by the nine to five schedule. Her creative instinct which was latent, finally came to the fore and she joined a theatre group. But destiny had something else in store for her.<\/p>\n
Director Rakesh Roshan, who had spotted the talent in her offered her the role of Soniya in Kaho Na Pyar Hai opposite his son Hritik Roshan. After overcoming stiff resistance from her family, Amisha’s career as a film star finally got flagged off with this film.<\/p>\n
