Gagan Ajit Singh was born on the 9th of March in the year 1980 in Ferozpur, Punjab. A prominent hockey player,\u00a0he has made India proud on several occasions by virtue of his brilliant performance at international level.<\/p>\n
He was introduced to the game at a very tender age by his father, Shri Ajit Singh and uncle Shri Harmik Singh. Both of them were prominent hockey players. Gagan Ajit Singh rose to prominence during the Junior Nationals where he played on behalf of the Air India Academy and displayed tremendous performance by setting a record of scoring 27 goals.<\/p>\n
The brilliant performer maintained his record by scoring maximum number of goals in the All India Gurmit Singh Tournament and Jawaharlal Nehru Tournament of 1997, where Gagan Ajit Singh played for Air India. Gagan Ajit Singh soon won a place in the National Team. He showed his exuberant performance in the very first match at the international level against Trinidad & Tobago in the Commonwealth Games of 1998, which was held in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n
Under his captaincy, the Junior Indian Hockey Team performed remarkably well and came out victorious in the Junior World Cup in the year of 2001 in Hobart of Australia. Gagan Ajit Singh was selected in the All-Asian men’s team of hockey in the 14th Asian Games of 2002 which was held in Busan of South Korea.<\/p>\n
