For-most-of-the-services-linking-Aadhaar-card-becomes-mandatory

The deadline for linking Aadhaar card with various services such as bank accounts, insurance policies, mobile number, etc, is fast approaching. If you have not linked your Aadhaar with these services by now, you should do so as soon as possible or else you would have to face a lot of inconveniences. Aadhaar card, which is mandatory and is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India, is very useful and provides a whole lot of benefits to the people. Here, we will provide our readers all the information they need pertaining to the benefits, deadline for linking, and the importance.

Bank Accounts

The deadline for Linking the card with bank accounts has been extended to March 31, 2018. If not done by that time, the bank accounts will be blocked.

However, linking Aadhaar with bank accounts comes with a lot of benefits. The person can get benefits from various government welfare schemes such as scholarships, pensions, and welfare funds, to name a few. All the benefits that the holder of the account gets from these schemes and facilities would be directly credited to his/her bank account.

The account holder can link his card either through net banking by following the required process, or by visiting the bank.

Pan Card

Linking the Aadhaar card with the Pan card is mandatory, and the deadline has now been extended to March 31, 2018.

This process is necessary and beneficial, as it would largely reduce the possibility of the circulation of black money, which has become a serious issue in the country. By eliminating fake PAN card numbers, corruption and fraud would also be reduced significantly. Other than that, the linking would also enable the government to easily identify tax evaders. Not linking, the Aadhaar card with the Pan card will create problems in filing income tax returns.

The linking of the two cards can be done by visiting the site – //www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. The other step is to SMS UIDPAN to 56161 or 567678.

Mobile number

For those who have not yet linked their Aadhaar, there is still some time. The last date for linking mobile phones with Aadhaar is February 6, 2018. This would help the user avail the benefits of social security schemes as the Aadhaar card enables to establish his or her identity. Some other benefits associated with this are, filing tax returns and keeping active your bank accounts.

Insurance Policies
Linking of the Aadhaar card with insurance policies will not only reduce fraudulent claims but will help during the settlement of claims for establishing the identity of the insurer. It will increase the speed of settlement and make the process smooth for the claimant.

EPF Account
The Aadhaar card will contain all the information of a person. Thus, it will be easier to verify data and ensure transparency. It will also be highly secure, error-free and will avoid duplicity. There will also be no possibilities of errors to creep in as the EPF information will match with that provided in the Aadhaar card.

Post Office Schemes

Linking of Aadhaar card with post office schemes is mandatory and should be done before the deadline. This would help the government in curbing black money as it will enable officials to keep track of the amount deposited in the account in the post office.
