44. Smriti Irani
From being a quintessential ‘bahu’ and a popular face of Indian television to holding an important position as a minister in the Union Cabinet of India. Smriti Irani’s rise in politics has been steady. Currently, she is serving in the cabinet of PM Modi as the Minister of Textiles. Additionally, she has been given the charge to handle the responsibilities for the Ministry of Women and Child Development since May 2019. The youngest member in Modi’s cabinet set herself on the task of reforming the teacher education system. Smriti also runs an NGO that provides water solutions to villages. She is the youngest among the Council of Ministers to serve India so wishfully at the age of 43.
