Lakshadweep islands are a group of islands located in the Laccadive Sea 200-440 kms off the coast of south West Indian state of Kerala. The Lakshadweep islands are the smallest Union Territory of India and only ten islands of the group are inhabited. These islands are the north most out of the Lakshadweep- Maldives-Chagos group of islands, which happen to be the tops of a vast undersea mountain range in the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. |
