Siliguri - The Gateway to Northeast India
Location of Siliguri
Located in West Bengal, Siliguri is situated in the plains at the base of the Himalaya Mountains. Siliguri is the largest city in North Bengal and the second largest city in West Bengal and is the gateway to cities like Gangtok, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Mirik in Northeast India. The city has three main climates, summer, winter and monsoon; it is the rainy season that facilitates the growth of tea in this region, ensuring the areas that surround Siliguri have many tea gardens.
