| Janamasthtami, also known as Krishna Janamasthtami is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Krishna, an avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu. Lord Krishna is one of Hinduism's most loved God's, as he is considered to be a leader, hero, protector, philosopher, teacher and friend all rolled into one. Janamashtmi is celebrated on the Ashthami Tithi, the eight day of the dark half of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadrapada in the Hindu calendar, when the Rohini Nakshtra is ascendant. |
