What is the name of the deepest known point in Earth's oceans?

The Challenger Deep is the deepest known point in Earth's oceans. It is located within the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean, southeast of Japan and east of the Mariana Islands.

Challenger Deep reaches a depth of approximately 10,900–10,935 metres (35,800–35,900 feet) below sea level, although measurements vary slightly depending on the surveying method. It is deeper than Mount Everest is tall, meaning Everest could be submerged there with its summit still more than a kilometre underwater.

The extreme depth creates enormous pressure, making Challenger Deep one of the most difficult places on Earth to explore. Only a small number of crewed and uncrewed missions have reached it. The site was named after the HMS Challenger, whose expedition conducted some of the earliest systematic deep-sea investigations in the late 19th century.

Thus, the answer is Challenger Deep, in the Mariana Trench.
