History

The history of Mexico dates back millennia. The stone tools found date back to 10,000 years. There are old civilizations such as Aztec, Mayan, Olmec, etc. Hernán Cortés' landing on the Gulf Coast and building the Spanish city of Veracruz in February 1519 marked the start of the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire. Due to the abundant silver deposits, particularly in Guanajuato and Zacatecas, silver extraction became the top industry in New Spain. Silver pesos from Mexico were the first currency used on a global scale. Throughout the colonial era and beyond, Mexico's population was rural and indigenous, despite a sharp decline in their population due to epidemic diseases. Smallpox, measles, and other illnesses were present in Europe in the sixteenth century. The Treaty of Cordoba and the Declaration of Independence of the Mexican Empire signed on August 24, 1821, recognized Mexico's independence. The Spanish crown repudiated the agreement and did not formally recognize Mexico's independence until 1836.

Culture

The 300-year Spanish colonial control of Mexico resulted in the mingling of indigenous and Spanish civilizations. Mexican culture reflects the complexity of the nation's past. It is renowned for many cultural and biological melting pots. Mexico thrives on Art, Literature, Food, and a history of Old Civilizations.

Language

Despite the absence of an official language, the vast majority of people in Mexico speak Spanish. It makes the country the most populous Hispanic nation in the world. Native tongues come from eleven language families, including four isolates and one brought over by American immigrants. The Government has recognized 69 Languages Nationally.
