About Movie Kapoor & Sons

As the second venture of director Shakun Batra, Kapoor & Sons comes with a refreshing cast comprising Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan. As a romantic comedy-drama film, Kapoor & Sons revolves around two brothers who fall in love with the same woman. Shakun Batra has done a brilliant job in showcasing the rivalry, intimacy and the strain of jealousy between the siblings. All in all, Kapoor & Sons is a remarkable portrayal of a perfect child in an Indian family.

Plot

Well, Kapoor & Sons is about Amarjeet Kapoor (played by Rishi Kapoor) and his grandsons Rahul Kapoor (played by Fawad Khan) and Arjun Kapoor (played by Sidharth Malhotra). The two estranged brothers are forced to return to their childhood home where their ailing grandfather wants to see them. It is during this family get-together that the members face random misunderstandings which later turn to be a complete mess. Both the brothers, Rahul and Arjun fall in love with the same girl Tia Singh (played by Alia Bhatt) who is equally good with the siblings. What happens next is the crux of Kapoor & Sons. The romantic, funny and emotional moments in Kapoor & Sons will definitely appeal to all classes of film viewers.

Performances

As a commendable actor of yesteryears, Rishi Kapoor has been truly fabulous in Kapoor & Sons. His facial expressions and body language are flawless and he has done complete justice to his role of a grandfather in the film. Talking about Ratna Pathak, she is just too lovely and her acting skills have made her character immensely believable. Playing the role of her husband is supremely talented actor Rajat Kapoor.

Coming to the performances delivered by the younger lot, both Alia and Sidharth look a cute couple after their stellar chemistry in yet another Dharma Productions’ film Student Of The Year. New to the list of young debutants is Fawad Khan of Sonam Kapoor starrer Khoobsurat fame. The trio looks fantastic together. While Arjun (Sidharth Malhotra) plays the role of an under-achiever, Rahul (Fawad Khan) is portraying the character of a successful novelist with impressive conviction. As the elder brother, Rahul is considered the golden grandson of the Kapoor family. Both Fawad and Sidharth have delivered pitch-perfect performances which pace up the movie as it reaches interval.

Finally, the bubbly character of Tia Singh played by Alia Bhatt is something you can’t miss for sure. She is instantly likeable and her drop-dead gorgeous looks have stolen several scenes. The Highway actress has played her girl next door character with a phenomenal zest that you can’t resist admiring.

Kapoor & Sons Music

KJo films are known for their music and Kapoor & Sons is not an exception. While Badshah’s “Kar Gayi Chull” has already rocked the musical charts, “Bolna” is a slow composition with Punjabi lyrics. Then there is “Buddhu Sa Mann” which is a pleasant treat for the ears and would undoubtedly hook up to your memory. “Saathi Rey” is yet another mellow song, sung brilliantly by Arko and makes a lasting impact. Lastly, there is “Let’s Nacho” which marks the return of Benny Dayal as a playback singer for films. The track is set to become the party anthem of the quarter.
