10:00 AM IST, 31 July, 2015 - The Cyclonic storm-Komen weakened into a deep depression over Bangladesh at 02:30 am on 31 July 2015. After making a landfall in coastal areas of Bangladesh, heavy rains triggered in Odisha and West Bengal. More rains are expected in West Bengal in regions like Howrah, Hooghly, Burdwan, North and South 24 Parganas and East Midnapore.

Former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam no more July 27, 2015 - Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who rose from humble beginnings to become one of India's leading scientists and later a hugely popular president, died here on Monday evening after collapsing during a lecture at the IIM-Shillong, plunging the entire country in mourning.   Suspected Terror Attack Town in Punjab, Five Dead & Seven persons injured 10:15 AM, July 27, 2015  - At least five people were killed and seven injured in Punjab’s Dinanagar town in the Gurdaspur district when gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at a bus stand and a police station. Landslides Kill 30 in Darjeeling

The landslides triggered by heavy rains claimed 30 lives in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Major landslides occurred in the district on Tuesday night due to incessant rains. According to media reports, many houses were swept away by the landslides killing many people. Dead bodies have been recovered from areas such as Mirik, Kalimpong, Limbudhura and Sukhiapokhari. Reportedly many roads in the district have also been damaged due to the sudden landslides.

At Least 17 Killed in Tractor-Truck Collision in Etah In a collision between a truck and a tractor, about 17 people including five children have been killed in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. As per the police officials of the region, the accident took place around 10.45 pm near the Harchandpur village.
