With Dussehra and Diwali just around the corner, and the entire country preparing for the biggest festive season of the year, the automotive market prepares for a much awaited wave of heavy cash discounts, exchange bonuses, corporate discounts and so on for those who have been waiting to book and buy their next car this time around. In order to push the bar further on the already piling orders and waiting periods of most models, dealerships are coming up with numerous attractive schemes for the new car buyers and budget runners alike in their hatchback, sedan and SUV ranges.

In an effort to clear out the 2013 stock of their popular hatchback, the Brio, Honda is offering a discount of upto Rs 15,000, and free accessories worth about Rs 5,000 on the 2014 model.

Rs 20,000 on Beat, Rs 1 lakh on Fiesta

General Motors pushes further its super fuel efficient and funky hatch, the Beat, with a discount offer of Rs 20,000 on both its petrol and diesel models. The company is also going to provide an exchange offer of up to Rs 25,000, and a corporate discount of around 3,000 for the companies that are enlisted for such offers with GM and their dealer outlets.

Ford refuses to stay back and puts forward free insurance for all the Figo petrol and diesel variants that provide for a savings of upto Rs 30,000. One can also avail an exchange bonus of Rs 6,000 on the Figo and extended warranty, that adds to the savings a figure of another Rs 5,000 on the petrol variants and Rs 8,000 on the diesel ones.

Those who still have an attachment to the Ford Classic – the previous Fiesta, are surely in for a treat as the company is offering an unbelievable Rs 1,00,000 discount on the car on the diesel variants. The dealerships also have on offer a discount of Rs 15,000 on the 2014 batch of the Classic.

Maruti offers a cash discount of over Rs 30,000 on their shelf-slammer – the Alto 800, despite the many not so nice things most of the people have to say about the way it looks and is literally flying off the shelves across Maruti dealerships. Over 25 lakh units have been sold since its launch. One can also save an additional Rs 20,000 in exchange for their old cars.

Hyundai offering Rs 30,000 on Verna

Hyundai is offering a discount of Rs 30,000 on their flagship sedan the Verna fluidic and up to 40-45,000 on the Elantra. The Sonata gets a big discount of Rs 1 lakh which is more than tempting for anyone thinking of upgrading to a luxury sedan this festival.

Skoda is right in sync with the rest of its competitors and puts forward a flat discount of Rs 1 lakh on the Rapid. Its sibling, the Volkswagen Vento, however, comes with an offer of Rs 50-70,000 off. The Volkswagen Jetta comes with a discount tag of Rs 75,000. The Renault Fluence also comes with an attractive discount of Rs 1 lakh, joining the Rapid.

Nissan has put forward a very decent discount offering of Rs 60,000-Rs 80,000 on their 2013 manufactured batch of the Sunny and Rs 40,000-60,000 on the 2014 make variants.

GM is also offering Rs 40,000-50,000 on their mid-sized SUV, the Chevrolet Captiva, and Toyota urges its tank, the Fortuner onward with an offering of Rs 40,000 as discount.

The Xylo offspring from Mahindra, Quanto, which has become surprisingly popular amongst quite a big percentage of the Indian buyers since its launch, comes with a cash discount and an exchange offer of Rs 10,000 each. There is also the option of availing corporate discount of Rs 5,000 on the Quanto and another Rs 15,000 on insurance.

The new-comer SsyangYong offers up to Rs 40,000 on its Rexton, being sold off from Mahindra dealerships.

Discounts on luxury car 

The luxury car market is equally abuzz with the festive season and have come up with huge discounts on their offerings.

 Audi dealers have put forward a discount of Rs 3.5 lakh on their Q3 and Q5. The Audi A4 comes with a discount of Rs 3 lakh and the A6 gets Rs  3.5 lakh off on the price tag.

BMW is offering the X3 with Rs 5.5 lakh off, and the 3 and 5 series sedans get Rs 3 lakh and 4 lakh off, respectively. The BMW 7 series, however, gets a great Rs 5-6 lakh off.

Mercedes Benz have slashed prices on their extremely popular and pretty A class hatch and the B class hatch by Rs 50,000 each. The C class sedan comes with a whopping Rs 5-6 lakh discount and the E class is being offered with that of Rs 4 lakh.

There is a great possibility of the prices being slashed further once the Diwali sales kick in and the coming month would be a brilliant opportunity to pick up your new car with some of the most attractive discounts to come across.
