Cakes and pastries have very low or no essential nutrients. They are usually loaded with sugar and hydrogenated vegetable oils which contain trans fat. Also, the frosting of these cakes and pastries gives a whopping dose of calories. More than 2 grams of trans fat is present in an average serving.
Alternate: Avoid eating cakes or pastries in large amount. You can instead eat fruit cake which is a healthier alternative.
