This is summer indulgence at its best! Go ahead and make a fruit bowl and fix yourself some non-alcoholic summer shots. Nothing beats this! Now comes the big question;what fruits should you put in which will make the bowl healthy, while complementing the taste? There is no sure shot way of getting this right, but these are the fruits which work brilliantly for me:
I purposely don’t add pears, watermelon, strawberries and other kinds of berries to this bowl. The reason being, that these fruits create a palate conflict for me. Adding a small quantity of dressing is a great idea. Make your own dressing with lemon/lime juice, mint juice and honey. 50 ml of this dressing is more than adequate for a bowl like this. All fruits used should be as fresh as possible and the fruit bowl must be consumed immediately after preparation. One thing which makes a big difference is the firmness of all fruits being used in preparing the fruit bowl. Fruits which sag, taste very bad, so choose your fruit carefully.
On the side we have summer cooler shots; Chilled Mint, Mango Shake, Lemon, Sparkling Lime Water and Jal Jeera. You can either drink them as shots while you dig in, or you can keep adding them one by one to the fruits and make every few spoonfuls taste different.
This bowl can be a great breakfast or lunch or an evening munch. Enjoy!
