A person who has received training in all areas of food preparation and is frequently an expert in a particular cooking style or cuisine is referred to as a chef. Indian cuisine is well known to be very diverse. Dishes come in various styles and flavours and are prepared in various ways nationwide.

Following is a list of the top 10 award-winning chefs in India who enhance Indian cooking standards, promote Indian food around the world, and aid people in discovering a wide variety of delectable foods: 

  • Chef Vikas Khanna 

He has received the Micheline Star, the most prestigious honor in the food industry. In addition, Vikas Khanna served as a consultant chef on the sixth season of Gordan Ramsay’s television program Kitchen Nightmares. He was also a guest judge on MasterChef Australia.

  • Sanjeev Kapoor

Sanjeev is a chef who currently owns a 24-hour food and lifestyle channel. He served as the host of “Khana Khazana,” at the time Asia’s longest-running program. In 2017, the Indian government presented him with the Padma Shri award. He was the 2015 recipient of the ITA Award for Popular Chef and Entrepreneur.

  • Vineet Bhatia

He was the country’s first chef to earn two Michelin stars. One of his eleven restaurants is located in London’s upscale Harrods. One of the most prominent Indian-born chefs is Vineet Bhatia. He completed education at The Oberoi School of Hotel Management. Modern Indian cuisine is prepared by him. Rasoi: New Indian Kitchen and My Sweet Kitchen are two published cookbooks, and he owns eleven restaurants. 

  • Ranveer Brar

Chef, judge, TV personality, host, author, restaurateur, producer of food films, and benefactor Ranveer Brar hails from India. Come Into My Kitchen, an autobiography by Ranveer Brar, was published in 2016. He is a James Beard Foundation honorary member. Ranveer Brar won the LFEGA’s 2018 Food Entertainer of the Year award.

  • Atul Kochhar

Celebrity chef Atul Kochhar, an Indian-born resident of the UK, runs several eateries and has appeared on television. Kochhar is one of the first two chefs from India to be awarded a Michelin star. He is also among the few Indian chefs to have received two Michelin stars. 

  • Vicky Ratnani

One of India’s most famous chefs, Vicky Ratnani, also received the Chef of the Year honour at the 2015 Indian Restaurant Awards. Vicky Ratnani also works as a Culinary Director for GIPL, a Bharti Airtel subsidiary, in consultation. He develops menu and food concepts for well-known restaurants like Pizza Express, Ministry of Crab, Nihonbashi, The Market Project, The Poona Project, and The Runway Project. 

  • Nita Mehta

Nita Mehta culinary school, the “Nita Mehta Culinary Academy,” opened in New Delhi in 2001. In Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, she opened her restaurant Kelong in 2012. Over 6 million copies of the approximately 400 cookbooks she has written have been sold. In 2011, she made an appearance as a judge on MasterChef India.
