Different parts of Sikkim will offer different experiences, and there is no one “best” part of Sikkim. North Sikkim, however, is one of the most spectacular regions of the state with its spectacular Himalayan scenery, snow-cloaked mountains, high-altitude valleys, waterfalls and pristine lakes. It is well known for its various attractions: Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang Valley, Gurudongmar Lake. Most of the Yumthang Valley is known for its beauty and colourful seasonal flowers, also referred to as the “Valley of Flowers.”
If you are a mountain lover and an adventurer, you can find some of the most stunning landscapes of Sikkim in North Sikkim. Gangtok, Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, etc. are located in East Sikkim, where tourists can easily reach popular tourist destinations, sightsee and enjoy the culture. Peaceful villages, monasteries, forests and views of the Himalayan peaks all characterize West Sikkim, whereas South Sikkim is quieter with beautiful landscapes and cultural attractions.
Thus, in terms of natural beauty and picturesque views of the Himalayas, North Sikkim is also the best part of Sikkim. The ideal region, however, will be in accordance with the person's taste for adventure, sightseeing, nature, culture, or a tranquil mountain getaway.
