About Movie Baar Baar Dekho

Previously titled as Kal Jisne Dekha, Baar Baar Dekho is a romantic, comedy-drama film directed by debutante director Nitya Mehra. With an ensemble cast including Sidharth Malhotra, Katrina Kaif and Sarika, Baar Baar Dekho unfolds through the flash-backs and flash-forwards in the love story of protagonists, Jai and Diya. As an out-and-out comedy entertainer, Baar Baar Dekho also provides a platform for both Sidharth and Katrina to imaginatively explore physical portrayal of their characters. Sidharth’s character, from a 18-year-old teenager to a 60-year-old man, and Katrina’s, who has undergone multiple facial transformations for the film, reflect in truest sense the fantasies of on-screen transcendence and transformation. All in all, Baar Baar Dekho has an ambitious storyline and is a visually stunning film.

Plot

Neither a science fiction nor a time-travel romantic flick, Baar Baar Dekho is a movie that traces the unusual love story between Jai (played by Sidharth Malhotra) and Diya (played by Katrina Kaif). The flick is all about the way Jai and Dia tackle the ups and downs in their love relationship. While Jai is a brilliant mathematician and remain confused about his love life; Dia is a chirpy girl, who’s an artist by profession and has a penultimate aim in life: to become the Missus of Jai Verma. One day, Jai is miraculously gifted the ability to fast-forward the events in his life. Right from spending his honeymoon in Thailand, to getting to see his wife’s delivery in London, followed by living his post-retirement days; Baar Baar Dekho brings you a phenomenal journey of Jai, who, in the wake of escaping from a married relationship has to live it, and during the journey realizes that he shouldn’t give up on his true love.

Performances

As fit as a fiddle, the Student of the Year ‘lad’ has portrayed the character of Jai with much aplomb. Quite surprisingly, Sidharth has even managed to overshadow the British beauty Katrina Kaif in most of the sequences in the film.

Katrina Kaif’s fans would undoubtedly want to see her well-toned abs in the song ‘baar baar’. Apart from looking like a million bucks – she’s looked quite sensuous in her bikini avatar, there isn’t much to talk about her on-screen performance and role. Her emotional scenes haven’t come out well.
Other actors in Baar Baar Dekho, including Sarika, Ram Kapoor, Rajit Kapoor and Sayani Gupta have done complete justice to their respective characters.

Baar Baar Dekho Music

Five composers have come together to create the brilliant soundtrack for Baar Baar Dekho. Let’s have a look at all the tracks in this much-talked-about music album of the year.

The album opens with the song titled “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan”, which undoubtedly touches hearts and makes the listeners fall in love with it. Sung by newbies Jasleen Royal and Prateek Kuhad, the song’s soft rendition will stay afresh in the minds of music lovers.

Then, there is “Sau Aasmaan”, which has a clear resemblance to “Sooraj Dooba Hai” from Roy. This is a fun, romantic number, sung by Armaan Malik and Neeti Mohan. The song is a perfect fit for parties and events.

Next is “Dariya”, which has been sung and composed by Arko. The minimal orchestrations in the song make it a treat for ears. The earnest singing of Arko has indeed made the track a soothing one.

Yet another brilliant track from the album is “Nachde Ne Saare”, which has been superbly crooned by Jasleen Royal, Harshdeep Kaur and Siddharth Mahadevan. As the brand new wedding song, “Nachde Ne Saare” has the perfect Punjabi swag and beats.

Then there is “Teri Khair Mangdi”, which was earlier a part of singer-cum-composer Bilal Saeed’s album titled “Twelve”. This new version of the song is slow paced and has mind-blowing Punjabi lyrics.

The last and undoubtedly a chart-buster track in Baar Baar Dekho is “Kala Chashma”. The track is a re-mastered version of a popular Punjabi song. As a clear winner, Kala Chashma has funky beats and the energetic vocals by Amar Arshi, Badshah and Neha Kakkar. The video of the song has also stolen the limelight from other tracks in the movie.
