About Movie Do Lafzon Ki Kahani

Do Lafzon Ki Kahani is an intense romantic flick based on the Korean movie ‘Always’ that hit the theatres in 2011. It stars Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles and has been mostly shot in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and India. As the latest directorial venture of yesteryear actor Deepak Tijori, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani is a love story between ex-mixed martial arts artist Sooraj (played by Randeep Hooda) and sculptor artist Jenny (played by Kajal Aggarwal). The movie is all about the events which unfold as the two have their pasts revealed.

Plot

In Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, Randeep Hooda plays the character of an ex-martial arts artist named Sooraj. He falls in love with a blind woman (Jenny) whose character is portrayed by Kajal Aggarwal of ‘Special 26’ and ‘Singham’ fame. While Sooraj becomes broody after retiring as a kickboxer champion due to a mishap in the past, Jenny is a chirpy girl who loves boring others with her talkative nature. Sooraj returns to his sports with the intention of getting a cornea transplant for her girlfriend, Jenny. It is much later that Sooraj realizes that he was the real reason behind his lady love’s blindness. The movie is all about the kind of dire consequences that Sooraj has to face in an attempt to get her lady’s eyes operated.

Performances

After delivering a stellar performance in the recently released biopic ‘Sarbjit’, Randeep Hooda is here to showcase the romantic side of his personality by pairing up with Kajal Aggarwal of Singham and Special 26 fame. In ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’ as well, Hooda has given his best and his hardwork can be easily noticed throughout the scenes featured in the movie.

Next is the movie’s lead actress Kajal Aggarwal who has proved her skills for the third time and is a real treat for the viewers. Her glamorous avatar has been competent in raising eye balls and she has been successful in maintaining her image of a bubbly girl throughout the flick.

Do Lafzon Ki Kahani Music

The movie is a romantic music with quintessentially soulful songs. The first track ‘Kuch to hai’ has been beautifully sung by Armaan Mallik in this unique style of singing. Next, there is ‘Jeena marna’ which has a Sufi touch to it and has turned to be a happy-sad song. Palak Muchhal has sung this song in a surprisingly unique style. Next is ‘Akhiyan’ sung by the super-talented Kanika Kapoor. The song signifies Kajal’s (Jenny) memories that she lives on after her eyesight returns.

Next in-line is ‘Sehra’ which has been sung by Ankit Tiwari and has added value to the movie’s music album. Lastly, there is ‘Chal Uth Bandeya’ which has been phenomenally sung by Sukhwinder Singh and goes well with the sequences in the movie.

What’s Good?

Randeep Hooda is the only USP of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani. He has given everything to the role and his scenes where he’s training for his matches have been featured superbly. He is thoroughly believable in the romantic scenes as well. Moreover, Kajal Aggarwal has also delivered a decent performance as the visually impaired girl. All songs of the movie are melodious and kick boxing sequences have been choreographed effectively.

What’s Bad?

The length of the movie is its major downside. There are several small loopholes including the lazy direction, repetitive sequences, disappearance of some of the characters (for eg: Sooraj’s mentor) etc.

Verdict

Watch ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’ if you are truly romantic at heart. Both, Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal are watchable in this emotional flick.
