Exit Poll Results: Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand assembly elections 2022

The polling for Assembly Elections 2022 has ended for all five states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur and Punjab. With Uttar Pradesh’s Phase- 7 being the final stage of this electorate, various exit poll results have started pouring in. MyAxis India, India TV-CNX, NewsX-Polstrat, ABP CVoter, India news-Jan ki Baat and News24-Chanakya have released exit polls.

Basic information about the states

The Uttar Pradesh assembly consists of 403 elected members for which voting took place in seven phases over one month. In contrast, Uttarakhand has 70 seats in its state assembly, for which polling took place on February 14, all in one phase.

Here are the latest updates according to some of the exit polls for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand:

Uttarakhand

A total of 632 candidates, including 62 women, are in the fray.

  • Jan Ki Baat Exit Poll

According to Jan Ki Baat Exit Poll, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will get 32- 41 seats. Congress is predicted to reach 27- 35. 0-1 seats to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) while others are expected to win 0 – 4.

  • Times Now Exit Poll

The Times Now Polls of Poll gives a slight edge to BJP.

TimesNow-Veto: BJP: 37, Congress: 31, AAP: 1, Others: 1

ETG Research: BJP: 38, Congress: 30, AAP: 1, Others: 1

Matrize Poll: BJP: 31, Congress: 35, AAP: 2, Others: 2

  • ABP-CVoter

The ABP-CVoter gives the edge to Congress as per its assessment.

BJP: 26-32 seats, Congress: 32-38, AAP: 2, Others: 3-7

  • India Today-Axis MyIndia

According to the India Today-Axis MyIndia exit polls, BJP is expected to win a slight majority by winning 36- 46 seats. The Congress is predicted to win 20- 30, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is expected to get 2- 4. Even the AAP is expected to win 2-5 seats.

  • News24-Today’s Chanakya 

BJP is expected to stay in the majority by winning 43 +/- 7 seats, whereas the Congress is expected to win 24 +/- 7 and 3 +/- 3 others.

Uttar Pradesh

  • P-Marq Exit Poll

According to the P- Marq exit poll, the BJP will win a clear majority in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP is predicted to win 240 seats, 140 for SP and 17 for BSP, while the Congress Party will win four seats.

  • Matrize Exit Poll

According to Matrize, the numbers are pretty similar, with the BJP winning a clear majority in the state while the SP is supposed to be the second biggest party giving tough competition to the BJP.

  • Pollstrat Exit Poll

Like most other polls, the Pollstrat exit polls predict BJP to stay in power by winning more than 200 seats.

News18 predicts the BJP to have a historic win, winning at least 262 seats. While it is still far lower than the 2017 tally of 325, it is far greater than anyone predicted.
