PM Narendra Modi’s address to party workers after BJP’s win in Uttar Pradesh assembly election

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a meeting with the party workers after big wins in four states. The party is the largest vote-getter in four out of the five states in the State Assembly Elections 2022. Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Uttarakhand are the states seeing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returning to power. The meeting was held at the party’s headquarters in Delhi, and various topics were discussed. The PM primarily helped the party karyakartas (workers) for their hard work, which caused the party to win consensus. He also lauded the voters, including first-time voters and women voters, for showing up in large numbers and “celebrating the festival of democracy”- a moniker he had given to the elections earlier.

Addressing the karyakartas (workers)

He lauded the workers by saying they made sure the party hit a “jeet ka chauka”. He also mentioned how the party workers had promised to celebrate Holi early this year and have kept that promise- insinuating that the win in these elections was a moment of festivities. He also congratulated the workers for winning the people’s trust across states.

Modi also pointed out that after 37 years, UP has brought back a government for its second term and the first time that a Chief Minister has returned to power. In addition, he mentioned how the party increased its vote share despite being incumbent in Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Goa.

Addressing the Poor

Modi said that the poor and unprivileged had put their faith in the party and claimed that nobody would work for the poor in the way the BJP has. “It required a lot of hard work to ensure that good governance is delivered to the citizens. I have been a chief minister, and that’s why I know. Earlier, people had to work hard to get basic necessities like electricity, water, gas and telecommunication,” he said according to OpIndia.

Addressing the Women

Modi was seen lauding the ‘Nari Shakti’ who supported the BJP and called it his “good fortune” that India’s mothers, sisters, and daughters came out to support him. He mentioned how the women’s vote share was more significant than the men’s vote share everywhere, and the BJP came back with thumping majorities. The PM called women the “charioteers” of the party’s victory. He also claimed to view the blessings of “mothers” throughout the country as “Suraksha Kavach”.

Attacking the Opposition

Talking about the opposition, Modi claimed that the people of UP chose development over caste politics and that people of all castes voted for the BJP. He also claimed that just like the 2017 elections indicated BJP’s victory in 2019, the 2022 elections will act like the springboard with which the party wins the 2024 elections. In his capacity as the MP of Varanasi, Modi claimed that the people have realised how it is vital to not bring to power those that engage in caste politics. He mentioned that the development of the state must be the topmost priority.
